11-24-2013 Announcements

IN YOUR DAILY PRAYERS we remember Chris Schenkel as he recovers from leg amputation surgery, Clara Baer as she recovers from abdominal surgery, Christa Peterson as she continues to undergo tests and analysis, those who are recovering at home, those in cancer treatment programs as well as our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING – Nov. 24th – Kid’s Crossing looks at how trusting in God can help us face difficult situations. The featured speaker will be Rev. Garen Pay from Pease Lutheran Church in Alcester. His sermon them will be “Promises For Sinners.” The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

WE WILL BE DECORATING the church for Christmas on Friday, Nov. 29th at 6:00. Volunteers are needed and will be greatly appreciated! There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Thank you in advance for helping to get your church ready for Christmas!

WHO ARE OUR COLLEGE STUDENTS? – We are considering different ways to stay in touch with our members who are attending vocational schools and colleges. So that we can be sure that we know who these individuals are, would you please let the church office know (preferably by e-mail) the name, mailing address, e-mail address and cell phone number of anyone in your family who is attending college or a vocational school. Thanks!

OUR THANKSGIVING DAY worship service will begin at 9:30 this Thursday. Please plan to join us and please bring a friend or relative to share in our worship and fellowship!

Ladies Aid will meet for their Christmas meeting on Dec. 5th at 7:00 p.m. with Bible Study followed by a short business meeting. Members are asked to bring a Christmas goodie to share for lunch. Joan Dreessen is on Altar Guild for December. Coffee Hour committee for Dec. 1st is Ella and Elsie Hein, Cindy Hofer and Phyllis Knittel.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions. It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins. All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures. If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

Main Street Living – Nov. 17th – Kid’s Crossing shows that God’s love surrounds us and gives us strength for every day. The featured speaker will be Rev. Kim Kantz from St. John Lutheran Church in Revillo and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milbank. His sermon theme will be “Coping With the Changing Times.” The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

THRIVENT ANNUAL MEETING – Hutchinson County Thrivent members are invited to attend the annual meeting in Tripp in the First American Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall at 6:00 tonight. A catered meal will be served with door prizes and musical entertainment.
