06-28-2015 Announcements


IN YOUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please include Gerhard Schamber celebrating his 90th birthday and 90 years of God’s blessings, Melton Langle who is hospitalized, all who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living –June 28th – The featured speaker is Rev. David Lindenberg of Peace Lutheran Church in Rapid City.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

REV. TROESTER’s RETIREMENT – After 32 years of service in the Office of the Holy Ministry, Pastor Jerry Troester is retiring.  The congregation of Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell cordially invites everyone to their open house reception for him this afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00.

LADIES AID will not meet in July.  Coffee Hour Committee for July 5th is Susan Borglum, Joan Dreessen and Millie Gunderson.  On Altar for July is Wyona Hofer and Visiting Helper is Phyllis Knittel.

BOE - we will be showing interested people, after church on June 28, how to make  paper rocks and snowflakes, at home. The snowflakes and rocks will be used for our VBS program- Everest next month. We will meet upstairs in the youth group room.  If your interested but can't go upstairs please contact Maria White or Lisa Anderson.

IN YOUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Carly Fritz on her mission trip to Alaska, Pauline Walz as she celebrates her 104th birthday, Melton Langle who is hospitalized, all who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – June 21st – The featured speaker is Rev. Curtis Garland of First Lutheran Church in Wall and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

ANNUAL DIAPER DERBY:  LFL will be accepting donations of diapers and other baby items starting Mother's Day, May 10th, through Father's Day, June 21st.  Please place your items in the crib located in the fellowship hall.  Items will be donated to local and regional families in need.

DISTRICT PRESIDENT INSTALLATION – Rev. Scott Sailer will be installed as 14th President of the SD District of the LCMS this afternoon at 5:00 at Faith Lutheran Church (601 N Cliff Ave., Sioux Falls).  Everyone is invited to attend.

THE BOE is asking that parishioners please save large brown paper bags and newspapers during June.  They will be used for making  VBS decorations.  Please put them in the tote  provided in the fellowship hall.

MISSION TRIP – On June 19th I will leave for Akiachak, Alaska and help lead a Bible camp and basketball camp in that village.  I want to thank you again for the overwhelming support and donations you have given our mission team.  We are eager to spend time with the people of Akiachak and to spread God’s love and word with those we encounter.  Please keep us in your prayers while we travel and work with the people of Akiachak.  (s) Carly Fritz and the St. John’s mission team
