02-28-2016 Announcements

IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING:  Rev. Gary Klatt of St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne, Minnesota will bring today’s message “Repent, and You Shall Live Forever”, based on Ezekiel 33: 7-20. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS – In case of a pastoral emergency please contact one of our elders for assistance.  (Blaine Saarie, Keith Knodel or Randy Koerner).

MID WEEK MEALS FOR LENT: plan to join the youth group as we serve some freewill suppers before Lent services. 6:00-6:45 p.m. on March 2, 9, 16.  Menu for March 2 will be pancakes, sausage and fruit.

LADIES AID -  will meet on March 2nd at 5:45 pm (before Lenten Service) for a business meeting.  On Altar Guild for March is Mildred Siekmann and Visiting Helpers are Orville and Julianne Huber.  Coffee Hour Committee for March 6th is Darlene Schrag, Mildred Siekmann and Joan Dreessen.

DARTBALL PRACTICE TODAY at 3p.m. at St. Paul/Freeman.  ALSO:  DARTBALL ZONE TOURNAMENT hosted by Zion/ Delmont at the Legion Hall on Main Street will be next Sun. (March 6).

MAIN STREET LIVING - Rev. Karl Gregory of First English Lutheran, Parker and Bethesda Lutheran, Marion. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER - at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

DARTBALL GAME - This week the game will be Monday (Feb.22) at St. Paul/Freeman.  Game time is 7:30 pm.  Schedules are on the bulletin board.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY - continues this Wednesday (Feb. 24) at 6:00am with Rev. Weeman.  We will continue “The Story of Angels”.  Everyone is welcome.

YOUR GIVING IS A BLESSING - Thank you for the donations of the canned foods. We collected over 150 items with your help and gave them to the local food panty to distribute.  

THANK YOU - to everyone that came and ate at the Valentine's Day Fundraiser Supper. It was a great success. Huge shout out to those that helped make it possible- youth group members and their parents, and the mentor mentee group. Thanks again. 

THANK YOU – The family of Darlene Schamber would like to thank the members of St. Paul Lutheran Church for their prayers and words of comfort following her death.  A special thank you to those who assisted with the funeral and lunch, donated food, sent cards and gave memorials.  Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran will be designated for the Sunday School.  Gerhard Schamber and family.

ANNUAL REPORTS -  We still need an annual report from the Elders and the Samaratins. Please get them in as soon as you can to Aleta Starner or Denise Peterson. We would like to get them out by the last Sunday of February.

OUR 2016 CHURCH OFFICERS - being installed today are Dean Dreessen (Chairman), Marlene Pidde (Secretary), Joni Knittel (Board of Education), Sue Rigo (Board of Evangelism), Janet Vargas (Board of Finance), Chad Knittel (Board of Trustees) and Glen Neuharth (Board of Ushers).  We thank God for raising up these servants to work in His kingdom and pray that He will give them the wisdom, strength and courage to fulfill the duties of their respective offices.

THANK YOU, REV. ELLIS – for leading us in worship today!  We sincerely appreciate your Christian service to our Lord, to His Church and to our congregation.

FOOD DRIVE ENDS TODAY - We CAN make a difference. Please bring any CANNED soup or vegetable and place them in the fellowship hall under the bulletin board.  The youth group wants to see how many CANS our church CAN donate to the local food panty.  Thank you for giving!

SUB SANDWICHES - those that didn't pick them up yesterday may do so today after service.  There are a few extra sandwiches for sale today also. $3.00 a piece. 

VALENTINES SUPPER - sign up Today for Valentine's Day Supper: Sunday February 14th.  Come enjoy lettuce salad, grilled steak, potato, green beans with bacon and cheesecake for only $13.  Time slots for this yummy fundraiser meal will be 5:30, 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00. 

DARTBALL GAME -  This week the game will be Monday (Feb. 8) at Immanuel/Dimock at 7:30 pm.  We will carpool from St. Paul/Freeman and leave at 6:30pm.  For more information, call Rev. Weeman at 925-4004.

LWML - will meet February 11th. at 2:00p.m. at the Salem Home upstairs coffee room. Alice and Marge hosting.
