IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please pray for those who are hospitalized, recovering at home and in cancer treatment programs as well as our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – July 28th – Today the discussion centers around what is really the most important thing in our lives.  The featured speaker is Rev. Sam Needham from Concordia Lutheran Church in Vermillion.  His sermon theme is “Lord, Teach Us How to Pray.”  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

LADIES AID will not meet in August.  Lee Lagendyk is on Altar Guild for August and Visiting Helper is Alice Fliginger.  Coffee Hour committee for August 4th is Ella and Elsie Hein, Cindy Hofer and Phyllis Knittel.

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING NOTICE – Our Summer voters’ meeting will be held today in the Fellowship Hall right after the worship service.

SUNDAY & WEEKDAY SCHOOL is around the corner. This learning experience is so important to our children. The Board of Ed is asking the congregation to  prayerfully  consider participating in teaching our children.  If you would like more information or to sign up please contact Cheri Knittel, Kristi Dannenbring, Amber Sayler or Maria White.   Thank You.

TODAY IS OUR MONTHLY SUNDAY SCHOOL; We will have the children's snacks and drinks up in the Junior High class room where we will be showing a DVD. Hope to see you all there.
GOD'S BACKYARD VBS was a HUGE success! Thank you congregation for your donation of supplies. We couldn't have done it without your help. An extra Big Thank You to those that gave their time and talent to help our children learn about the Bible and Jesus. 07/21/2013 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember those who are hospitalized, Mary Jenkins and Orville Huber as they each recover from having a stroke, Emily Hofer as she recovers at home from back surgery, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING – July 21st – Kid’s Crossing has Janitor Bob and Lisa comparing the good Samaritan story to the modern trend of random acts of kindness.  The featured speaker is Rev. Bill Sabol from Trinity Lutheran Church in Jasper, MN.  His sermon theme is “One Thing Needful.”  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

THE TIME HAS COME FOR GOD BACKYARD VBS:  VBS starts tomorrow so if your child is attending and you have not registered yet, please do so today.  Registration forms are on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall. You can give them to Cheri Knittel, Amber Sayler or Maria White.  We want to send a BIG Thank You to all the help by donating supplies and are will to serve during this coming week.  The Board of Ed will be preparing the church this afternoon at 1 p.m.  If there is any that wish to help, but are not able to during the week, we are always grateful for additional help in decorating and getting tables and such arranged.  Thank you the Board of Ed.

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Emily Hofer who is recovering from back surgery, Mary Jenkins hospitalized with a possible stroke, Tracey and Brian Mehlhaff on the birth of a healthy baby boy, Myron Schaffer who continues to recover in the VA hospital, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

ATTENDING THE STURGIS RALLY? – For anyone attending the 2013 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, safe and quiet RV parking accommodations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at Blessed Emmanuel Lutheran Church.  Please see the letter from the church on the bulletin board for more information.

Iver Possehl from Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Howard.  His sermon theme is “How to Get Eternal Life.”  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

07/07/2013 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember the family of Max Schamber who went home to be with his Lord last Tuesday morning.  We also pray for those who are hospitalized, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

LARGE-PRINT HYMNALS – If anyone desires to use a large-print hymnal, we will make available as many as we need.  Just let any of the ushers know.  Thanks.

MAX SCHAMBER’S ENTRANCE INTO GLORY – We pray for peace and comfort for the family of Max Schamber whom God called home last Tuesday, July 2nd.  We pray that God would comfort all who mourn with the hope of the glorious resurrection of the body and a happy reunion in heaven, and that He would sustain the family with the knowledge that all who remain faithful will be given the crown of eternal life and will be in our Lord’s presence forevermore.  Max’s home-going service was held yesterday, July 6th.

You may grab your snacks and come upstairs. We will have beverages there for you. Please plan on coming for a small devotion/prayer and Christian movie in lieu of our monthly movie nights- at least during the summer. Hope to see you all there. YOUTH GROUP COOKOUT is tonight at 6:00 p.m. at John and Aleta Starner’s house please plan to attend.  It will be a fun night with good food and fellowship.

SAMARITAN GROUP will have a meeting on Wednesday, July 10th, 7:00 pm at the church to sort and organize recipes.

06/30/2013 Announcement

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Max Schamber as well as those who are hospitalized, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

BAPTISM OF HANK PETERS – We joyfully welcome Hank James Peters into our Christian family today through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism!  We thank God for giving him new birth, true faith, salvation and eternal life, and we pray that God’s holy angels will watch over him throughout his life.  Hank is the son of Chris and Jenny Peters.  Please greet them in the receiving line following our worship service.

THE FLOWERS on the altar this morning are in honor of Pauline Walz. Congratulate her as she celebrates her 102nd birthday.

RECIPES NEEDED:  Response to the cookbook project has been slow.  PLEASE submit your recipes as soon as possible.  If you have already submitted recipes PLEASE consider submitting a few more.   Many more recipes are needed to make a quality cookbook that will represent our congregation to the community.
