1-30-2011 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week, we pray for Wyona Hofer, Phyllis Knittel, Randy Koerner, Richard Salis, Jerry Saner and Elizabeth Starner as they recover at home, Roman Miller as he continues his treatments and Bernie Wrenn who is in the VA hospital as well as for our shut-in members, our inactive members and for at least two people in your life who don’t know Christ.

ANNUAL VOTER’S MEETING will be held after church service today. Please plan to attend this meeting.

LADIES AID will meet Thursday evening a 7:30 p.m. Hostess is Millie Gunderson, Altar Guild is Sharon Pfeiffer and Visiting Helper for February is Millie Gunderson.

VALENTINE SUPPER: The high school youth Valentine Supper will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13th. Please sign up for a time with Stefanie, Collin, or Sam.

The high school youth will meet on Feb. 6th following the church service.

1-23-2011 Announcements

VALENTINE SUPPER: The high school youth Valentine Supper will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13th. Please sign up for a time with Stefanie, Collin, or Sam.

SIGN UP SHEET: There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in fellowship hall to sign up for a light snack for the children as they come here from school for Weekday school and Confirmation.

January 30, 2011 Kid's Crossing has Bernice stressing the need to trust in Jesus.
The featured speaker is Vicar Kory Janneke from Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. The sermon theme is "The Blessings of Our King." The hymns are Come Thou Almighty King; Jesus, Thy Blood and Righteousness; and Beautiful Savior. The Main Street Living choir will provide the hymns. The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

1-16-2010 Announcements

DARTBALL SEASON will be starting tomorrow. First game will be held at Clayton and we are in need of more players. If you are interested in playing, please contact Orville or Dean. Women are also welcome to join us!

THE 2011 ANNUAL LIFE CONFERENCE has been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 22, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 629 9th Ave. in Brookings. Registration begins at 8:30; there is no charge. There is a poster on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board with additional Conference information. Everyone is encouraged to attend and support this worthwhile endeavor.

BIBLE STUDY SURVEY forms should be returned to the Pastor as soon as possible if you wish your opinion to be counted! If you wish to voice your views via e-mail, fax, text, phone call, snail mail, Morse Code or carrier pigeon, that is OK as well. Braille and hieroglyphic correspondence will be returned to sender.

1-9-2011- Announcements

CHURCH COUNCIL will meet Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.

LWML will meet Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. Topic will be given by Marge and lunch will be served by Julie.

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week, we pray for Phyllis Knittel as she recovers at home; for Darlene Schrag and Jerry Saner during their time of diagnosis and treatment; for Richard Salis hospitalized in Sioux Falls as well as for our shut-in members, our inactive members and for at least two people in your life who don’t know Christ.

LABORERS FOR CHRIST has been blessed over the past several months with a significant increase in inquiries and applications for their services. The process of recruiting new people into this ministry as project managers is a continuing and challenging one. If you (or someone you know) has experience in construction and has an interest in working with LFC as a project manager, please contact Dan Baker at (517) 206-2088. Thank you for your help, partnership and continued support.

1-2-2011 Announcements

TODAY at 3:00 p.m. the church decorations will be coming down. If you are able to come and help it would be greatly appreciated.

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH will have their January meeting at 7:00 at the parsonage this evening. Supper will be provided by the Pastor and his family at 6:00.

ELDER’S will meet Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.

LADIES AID will meet Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will include the election of a President and Treasurer. Nominated for President – Joan Dreessen and Sharon Pfeiffer. Nominated for Treasurer – Phyllis Knittel and Mildred Siekmann. Hostess for the month of January is Marlene Geidel, Altar Guild is Garnet Stern and Visiting Helper is Gerry Saner.

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week, we pray for Phyllis Knittel, Lonnie Graber and Richard Salis as they recover at home; for Roman Miller as he receives chemotherapy; for Darlene Schrag and Jerry Saner during their time of diagnosis and treatment; for David Peterson (husband of Sheila – one of our organists) hospitalized in Sioux Falls as well as for our shut-in members, our inactive members and for at least two people in your life who don’t know Christ.

A NEW YEAR’S DAY WEDDING! We thank the Lord for His institution of marriage and earnestly ask for His blessings on Noah and Kara (nee Pidde) Nelson that they may abide in peace and love. May this couple remain in faithful service to our Lord and reflect His love by showing love to and for each other. Noah and Kara were married in Fargo yesterday, January 1st.

THE KANTOREI CHOIR of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, will present music of the Christmas and Epiphany seasons, on Fri., Jan. 7 at 7:00 p.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2200 So. Western Avenue. The Kantorei Choir is a 19 voice men’s chorus. A free-will offering will be received for the work of the Kantorei, and a coffee hour will follow the presentation. You are cordially invited to attend!
