11-29-2015 Announcements

IN YOUR PRAYERS this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, including Darlene Schamber, Cindy Hofer and Ruth Koerner, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – Nov. 29th – The featured speaker is Rev. Lloyd Redhage of Zion Lutheran Church in Andover and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ferney.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

ADVENT DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETS (written by Lutheran Hour Ministries) will be distributed after today’s worship service.

ADVENT MIDWEEK SERVICES have been scheduled for this year.  We will gather at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 2nd, Dec. 9th and Dec. 16th for worship.  At 6:00 p.m. (before each Wednesday’s service) we will also provide a soup and sandwich supper for all who wish to get together for a light meal.  Please join us and please bring a friend or relative to share in this opportunity for worship and fellowship!

LADIES AID will meet for a Business Meeting Dec. 2nd at 6:00 before the Advent Service.  On Altar Guild for December is Joan Dreessen.  Ladies Aid Christmas Project this year is Main Street Living.  There will be a basket in the Fellowship Hall during Advent Season (Wednesday night and Sunday services) if anyone is interested in supporting this project.  The Ladies Aid will match any funds collected. Thank you for any contribution.

YOUTH GROUP FUNDRAISERS:  Pizza & donut card fundraiser ends today. This will be the last day to get Caseys cards from the youth group.  Please see us after service today.

ADVENT MEALS: Please consider coming to the freewill suppers before Advent services. The youth group will be serving supper from 6 - 6:45 p.m. Dec 2, Dec 9 & Dec 16. Please see the flyer on bulletin board for more information and the menu.

BOE - Please support the Mission tree by giving money for candy canes and later ornaments, throughout the Advent season.  The money
is to be donated to the Youth group's trip.

THE SAMARITAN GROUP:  are selling our cookbooks at a discounted price in December. They are 1 cookbook for $20; 2 for $30; and 3 cookbooks for $40. They make a great Christmas present. We will be set up at the end of a table in the social room starting December 6th.

CARE PACKAGES: Diane Schnabel has volunteered to send solider packages to any military personal over the holidays. Please let her know if you know of anyone. Thank you.

SAMARITAN meeting Sunday, November 22, during coffee hour. Please try to attend as we are going to discuss our activites for the coming months. New members are welcome. (s) LaNae Harberts

No CONFIRMATION CLASS on Wednesday, Nov. 25th.

Our THANKSGIVING DAY worship service will begin at 9:30 this Thursday.  Please plan to join us and please bring a friend or relative to share in our worship and fellowship!

CHURCH CHRISTMAS DECORATION TIME:  Please plan to help decorate our Church as we prepare to celebrate the season of Christ's birth.  We will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday November 28th.  A light lunch will be provided.

Dec 2: baked potato feed, Dec 9: spaghetti & meatballs, and Dec 16: soup and sandwich.

BAZAAR FOLLOW-UP - We want to thank everyone again who contributed in any way toward making our 51st annual bazaar a success. The total income for this year was $6237.15. Sharon applied for & received a $250.00 prepaid Visa card through the Thrivent Action Team and that paid for the milk, orange drink, buns, and other supplies needed for the bazaar. Thanks – The Bazaar Committee.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

IN OUR PRAYERS this week we remember the family of Myrna Huber who went to live with her Lord last Friday, those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.
 
Main Street Living – Nov. 8th – The featured speaker is Rev. Timothy Koch of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cresbard and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wecota.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

MYRNA HUBER’S ENTRANCE INTO GLORY – We pray for peace and comfort for the family of Myrna Huber whom God called home last Friday, Nov. 6th.  We pray that God would comfort all who mourn with the hope of the glorious resurrection of the body and a happy reunion in heaven, and that He would sustain the family with the knowledge that all who remain faithful will be given the crown of eternal life and will be in our Lord’s presence forevermore.  Myrna’s funeral arrangements are pending.
 
SNOW REMOVAL:  The trustees are accepting snow removal bids for the parking lot and sidewalks including the parsonage. Please contact Matt Rigo at 366-7476 if interested.
 
LEAF RAKING: the Youth Group will be raking leaves this fall as a fundraiser for our trip next summer. Please let Amber or a youth group member know if you would like your yard raked.

LWML will meet on Thursday November the 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the home of Wyona Hofer. Pastor will lead us in Bible Study
