11-22-2015 Announcements


IN YOUR PRAYERS this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, including Darlene Schamber (hospitalized in Freeman with heart issues and pneumonia), Cindy Hofer (hospitalized in Freeman with a broken elbow and 2 broken wrists) and Ruth Koerner (in the Salem Home with a broken shoulder and wrist), those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – Nov. 22nd – The featured speaker is Rev. Nathan Henchen of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Leola.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

SAMARITAN meeting Sunday, November 22, during coffee hour. Please try to attend as we are going to discuss our activites for the coming months. New members are welcome. (s) LaNae Harberts

No CONFIRMATION CLASS on Wednesday, Nov. 25th.

Our THANKSGIVING DAY worship service will begin at 9:30 this Thursday.  Please plan to join us and please bring a friend or relative to share in our worship and fellowship!

CHURCH CHRISTMAS DECORATION TIME:  Please plan to help decorate our Church as we prepare to celebrate the season of Christ's birth.  We will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday November 28th.  A light lunch will be provided.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE FOR NOVEMBER:

Sunday  11/15/15 1:00-2:30 3rd-8th grades only
Sunday 11/22/15 1:00-2:30 3rd-8th Grades only
Sunday 11/29/15 1:00-2:30 Prek-8th (Prek-2nd can leave at 2:00)

LADIES AID will meet for a Business Meeting Dec. 2nd at 6:00 before the Advent Service.  On Altar Guild for December is Joan Dreessen.  Ladies Aid Christmas Project this year is Main Street Living.  There will be a basket in the Fellowship Hall during Advent Season (Wednesday night and Sunday services) if anyone is interested in supporting this project.  The Ladies Aid will match any funds collected. Thank you for any contribution.

YOUTH GROUP FUNDRAISERS:  The youth group will be selling Casey's Pizza and Donut cards for the next couple weeks. Get 10 FREE pizzas ($15) or 60 FREE donuts ($10). Come ask how it works after service today or ask any youth group member.  Upcoming fundraisers; plan to join the youth group as we serve some freewill suppers before advent services. Dec 2: baked potato feed, Dec 9: spaghetti & meatballs, and Dec 16: soup and sandwich.

BAZAAR FOLLOW-UP - We want to thank everyone again who contributed in any way toward making our 51st annual bazaar a success. The total income for this year was $6237.15. Sharon applied for & received a $250.00 prepaid Visa card through the Thrivent Action Team and that paid for the milk, orange drink, buns, and other supplies needed for the bazaar. Thanks – The Bazaar Committee.
