THE LORD’S SUPPER is celebrated at this congregation in the confession that, as our Lord says, He gives us not only bread and wine but His very Body and Blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of our sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another.  Our Lord invites to His table all those who trust His words, repent of their sins and set aside any refusal to forgive and love others as He forgives and loves us.  Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s Body and Blood unworthily (that is, they do not recognize the bread and wine to also be His Body and Blood) do so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet baptized, not instructed in the Christian faith, not a member of this church nor the LC-MS and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, are asked to speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

THANK YOU to all who helped to rake leaves last Sunday.  It was a great job well done and everyone’s help was greatly appreciated!!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE – Millions of believers did not vote in the last election.  Another important election comes up soon.  Here is a truth:  There are millions of voters who strongly oppose our Christian views and our Christian way of life.  The issues are vital and they are many.  Who would ever have imagined a few years ago that today we would be debating the definition of marriage or that this country alone has about 1.2 million abortions each year or that this country would be 16 trillion dollars in debt?  Know what the national, state and local candidates’ positions are on these and other issues that concern you.  Then remember to vote so that your voice will be heard and, please, encourage others to vote, too.  This country, our children and their children need us not to be silent but to take a stand for what we believe in.

BAZAAR – Thank you to everyone who donated, worked and supported us on our successful day!  Please check the kitchen for your containers.  (s) Bazaar Committee

10-21-2012 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember the hospitalized, those who are recovering from illness or surgery, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 of our friends and relatives who do not yet know Christ.

Finance COMMITTEE MEMBER – The church is looking for a volunteer who is willing to be nominated to serve on our Finance Committee.  Per our bylaws, the election to fill this position is to be held during our October voters’ meeting (Oct. 28th).  If you are willing to serve our Lord’s Church in this capacity, please contact Randy Koerner, Scott Stern or the Pastor.  Thanks!

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING NOTICE – Our Fall voters’ meeting will be held next Sunday in the Fellowship Hall right after the worship service.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

A SIGN UP SHEET is on the bulletin board if you would like to bring snacks for the midweek school and confirmation class on Wednesdays.  Please sign your name on the week you would like to bring a snack.  Thank you.

CHOIR – We are always looking for additional choir members.  If you are interested, please contact Jane at 925-7069.
BAZAAR – Plan to attend our annual Bazaar on November 1st from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We will again have a Country Store with baked goods, Stitchery/Craft Booth and the Lunch Counter.  We would like to thank everyone that has volunteered to bring food and work.  If you would like to help us in anyway and have not been contacted, please call one of the committee members.  As you can see by the work schedule, we could use another person to waitress during the day and also kitchen helpers.  We have posted the food donation list on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall and on the refrigerator in the kitchen.  We would appreciate it if you could cool or refrigerate your food before you bring it to the church.  Also, if you have frozen your food, please bring it to the church unthawed.  See you November 1st for a day of good food and fellowship!

Bazaar setup and cleaning – We will be setting up for the Bazaar and cleaning the kitchen on Sunday, October 28th starting at 1:00 p.m.  We would appreciate it if you would come and help us with this project.  Also, please check the kitchen to see if any of the containers, bowls, cake pans or pie plates are yours.  We seem to have items that have been left from funerals or potlucks that need to be returned to their rightful owners.

MAIN STREET LIVING – Oct. 28 – Kid’s Crossing looks at the greatest commandment … “Love God with all your heart, soul and mind.”  The featured speaker will be Rev. Gene Bauman from St. Paul Lutheran in Spearfish.  MSL may be seen each Sunday morning at 10:00 on KDLT-NBC.
