12/16/2012 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember the family of Jackson Vetch during their mourning of Jackson’s death, the family of Curt Stern (a cousin to Cindy Olesen) during their mourning of Curt’s death, all others who are ill or in cancer treatment, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 people who do not yet know Christ.

MIDWEEK ADVENT SERVICES – We will gather at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 19th for worship for our remaining midweek Advent service.  Beginning at 5:45 p.m. we will also provide a soup and sandwich supper for all who wish to get together for a light meal.  This week’s soup and sandwich supper will be provided and hosted by the Samaritans.  Please plan to join us and please bring a friend or relative to share in this opportunity for worship and fellowship!

NO MIDWEEK SCHOOL or CONFIRMATION CLASSES on the last 2 Wednesdays of December.  Christmas Break will be 2 weeks long so both classes will resume January 2nd!

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

Christmas Worship Services – We invite you to join us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of Man and Son of God!  Our Christmas Eve Children’s Program will be held on Dec. 24th at 7:00 p.m.  Please mark your calendars and come rejoice with us as our youth present the Christmas story and as we worship our Savior and Redeemer.  Our Christmas Day service will be Dec. 25th at 9:30 a.m.  Both services will be filled with your favorite Christmas hymns so bring a friend with you!

ST PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH CHRISTMAS CARE TREE – You may have noticed a Christmas tree in the Fellowship Hall.  We are wishing to bless those in need to keep warm this Christmas season.  As a mission of giving, we are hoping to collect hats, mittens, socks and small fleece blankets or other items that you feel are appropriate.  We don’t want to put an age limit on this project as there are not only children but elderly who are in need.  We will collect items through Dec 16th and hope to distribute the items before Christmas.  God bless the children and congregational members who wish to participate.  Thank You!  The Board of Ed

MAIN STREET LIVINGmay be seen on Sunday mornings at 10:00 on KDLT-NBC.  If you would like to donate to Main Street Living there will be a basket in the Fellowship Hall the next few Sundays.  Funds will be matched by the Ladies Aid.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR is broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8:30 on 105.9 FM and at 9:30 on 570 AM.
