06-24-2012 Announcement

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we pray for everyone suffering physically or mentally who is need of our prayers as well as the family of Leone Haar who went to be with her Lord last Monday, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least two people in your life who do not yet know Christ.

BEFORE LEAVING the sanctuary, please find one person whom you don’t know or don’t know very well, introduce yourself and have a brief chat with them.

SONRISE NATIONAL PARK VBS – The dates for VBS are July 16th thru July 20th 5:15 to 8:15.  Supper will be provided from 5:15 to 5:45 with VBS starting at 5:45.  Please sign up your child/children on the “sign-up form” on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall as soon as possible.  There is also a sign up list of things we need for VBS.  Please contact Amber, Cheri or Kari if you would like to help with our VBS this summer.

THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Leone Haar was held yesterday, June 23rd.  She was received into Glory on June 18th.  We ask God to comfort her family in their time of sorrow with the sure and certain promise of the resurrection of all flesh on the Last Day and the subsequent joyful reunion in heaven of all believers.

LADIES AID – no meeting in July.  Norma Miller is on Altar Guild and Corrine Handel is Visiting Helper.  Coffee Hour committee for July 1st is Garnet Stern, Staci Stern and Susan Borglum.

PASTOR IS ON VACATION thru next Saturday.  Pastor Bob Moeller will be leading our worship service today and will be on call this week for pastoral emergencies.  You may reach him at (605) 321-1641 [cell phone].  You may also contact any of our elders for assistance.

MAIN STREET LIVING – July 1 –Kid’s Crossing is based on Luke 12:15.  Janitor Bob talks about greed and how life is more than possessions.  The speaker is Rev. Dan Deardoff from Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brandon.  The sermon theme is “The Unbelievable/Believable God.”  The Main Street Living Choir will provide the hymns.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR July 1 – “Desiring Greatness or God’s Strength?” is the title of Rev. Gregory Seltz’ sermon.  (II Cor. 12:1-11) The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday morning at 8:30 on 105.9 FM (KMIT) and at 9:30 on 570 AM (WNAX).

06-17-2012 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Myron Schaffer who was admitted to the VA hospital in Sioux Falls last week, everyone else who is under a doctor’s care, recovering from accidents or from surgery, those in therapy, those in mourning, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least two people in your life who do not yet know Christ.

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please thank God for Geoffrey Pfeiffer’s successful surgery and that he is already home.  As always, please also pray for Connie Hinckley and Chris Schenkel, for all others who are not well, for those who are in mourning, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least two people in your life who do not yet know Christ.

LWML will meet on Thursday, June 14th, at 7:00 p.m.  We are having a guest night.  All ladies of the congregation are invited to join us for an evening of Bible Study and fellowship.  Hope to see you there!

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please include Chris Schenkel (hospitalized for diabetes complications), Geoffrey Pfeiffer (hospitalized for brain tumor removal surgery), Judy Walter’s grandson (hospitalized with a staff infection in his spine), the family of Evelyn Nies (daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jared Nies, St. John Lutheran Church, Gregory) who was received into God’s eternal presence last Sunday at the age of 2 days, the family of Raymond Drake (father-in-law of Rev. Karl Gregory) who went to be with His Lord on May 28th, for all others who are ill, in recovery or in mourning, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least two people in your life who do not know Christ.

LADIES AID will meet on June 7th at 7:00 p.m. for its regular meeting with our Pastor leading the Bible Study on Lesson 6.  Millie Siekmann will serve as hostess.  Altar Guild for June will be Millie Gunderson and Visiting Helper will be Millie Siekmann.

MAIN STREET LIVING – June 10 – (not on KDLT this week) – Kid’s Crossing retells Pentecost with an interview with people who witnessed the event.  The speaker will be Rev. Spiehs from St. John Lutheran Church in Wolsey.  His sermon theme will be “A House Divided Cannot Stand.”  The MSL Choir will provide the hymns.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR June 10 – “We Do Not Lose Heart” will be the sermon theme for Rev. Seltz.  The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday morning at 8:30 on 105.9 FM (KMIT) and at 9:30 on 570 AM (WNAX).
