11-18-2012 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember Doris Albrecht who is now under Hospice care, all others who sick, have upcoming surgery or are recovering from illness or surgery, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 people who do not yet know Christ.

ST PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH CHRISTMAS CARE TREE – You may have noticed a Christmas tree in the Fellowship Hall.  We are wishing to bless those in need to keep warm this Christmas season.  As a mission of giving, we are hoping to collect hats, mittens, socks and small fleece blankets or other items that you feel are appropriate.  We don’t want to put an age limit on this project as there are not only children but elderly who are in need.  We will collect items through Dec 16th and hope to distribute the items before Christmas.  God bless the children and congregational members who wish to participate.  Thank You!  The Board of Ed

BAZAAR COMMITTEE – The Bazaar Committee would again like to thank all who contributed in any way to make for another successful Bazaar.  We raised $5,006.93 after expenses.  Thank you!!

NIGHT AT THE MOVIES – We are planning another movie night for Sunday, Nov, 25th at 7 pm.  We will be showing “We Bought a Zoo.”  Everyone is WELCOME for this great family entertainment.  Bring your favorite blanket, pillow and beverage if you want to.  Otherwise, seating and popcorn will be provided.  Hope to see you all there.

A SIGN UP SHEET is on the bulletin board regarding midweek school and confirmation class snacks.  Please sign up for the week you would like to bring a snack.  We still have some open weeks!  Thank you.

LADIES AID CHRISTMAS PARTY – Make plans now to attend the Ladies Aid Christmas Party on Sunday, December 2nd at 4:00.  Members are reminded to bring Christmas cookies.  There will also be a $5.00 gift exchange.  Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend.  Our Christmas Project is Main Street Living; a free will offering will be matched by the Ladies Aid.  The congregation will also have an opportunity to contribute during the Sundays in December.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR is broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8:30 on 105.9 FM and at 9:30 on 570 AM.

MAIN STREET LIVING – Nov. 25 – The featured speaker will be Rev. Samuel Bobby from Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rapid City.  MSL may be seen on Sunday mornings at 10:00 on KDLT-NBC.
