Announcements 10-31-2010

COFFEE HOUR today will be in honor of Ruth Koerner’s 90th birthday given to her by her family. Happy Birthday Ruth!

NOMINATED to the Board of Finance are: Wyona Hofer, Tom Stolp and Sylvia Mendel. Election will take place at the Quarterly Voter’s Meeting following church service this morning.

POTLUCK will be next Sunday at 11:30 in honor of Pastor Kramer and Janet. Beverages and dessert will be provided. Those attending are asked to fill in with hot dish or salad.

INSTALLATION for Pastor Kent Borglum will take place next Sunday at 5:00 p.m. After the service there will be a sandwich buffet and bars provided.

YOUTH in grades 8-12 are invited to a lock-in at the church on Saturday, November 6th, starting at 7:00 p.m.

CHURCH CHOIR will be having a Christmas Cantata this year. If you wish to participate in the cantata please come to choir practice on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcomed from high school age on up.

SUNDAY SCHOOL children will again be performing the Christmas Eve Service. We ask that you contact Amber (925-7132) or Kristi (660-4139) if your children will not participate. Please provide your prompt response so parts can be divided out accordingly and a practice schedule can be set up.

OPERATION OUTREACH is a ministry in association with Pastor Dave Gunderson of St. Johns Lutheran – Yankton. He is now serving in Afghanistan. Part of this ministry is collecting children’s shoes. These can be new or used. St. Paul’s LWML is using this as a Christmas project and would like to invite the congregation to participate. There will be a box in the fellowship hall until Thanksgiving Day for shoe contributions at which time we will send them on to Camp Phoenix in care of Pastor Gunderson for distribution.
MAIN STREET LIVING:

November 7th 2010 Kid's Crossing - Simon confuses "Beatitudes" with "bee" attitudes.
The featured speaker is Rev. Ken Johnson from Zion Lutheran Church, Avon, SD, and Our Savior Lutheran Church, Springfield, SD. The sermon theme is "Better than Pennies from Heaven." The hymns are Praise to the Lord, the Almighty; For All the Saints; and I Know That My Redeemer Lives. The Main Street Living choir will provide the hymns. The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

OUR BAZAAR is Thursday, November 4th from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The food list & work schedule are posted in the Fellowship Hall and in the kitchen. Please put a check mark by your name on the list when you bring your food donation for the Lunch Counter. We would appreciate if you would cool or refrigerate your food before you bring it to the church. Also is your food is frozen, please have it unthawed before you bring it to the church. Our plans are to have the kitchen door unlocked around 7 a.m. Thursday morning. See you Thursday, November 4th for a day of good food and fellowship.

We will be setting up in the Fellowship Hall and cleaning the kitchen for the Bazaar starting at 1 p.m. today. Please come and help us this afternoon. Thanks.
