IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week, we pray for Leann Albrecht and her family, Roman Miller, Richard Salis and Delphine Labor as well as for our shut-in members, our inactive members and for at least two people in your life who don’t know Christ.
NO CONFIRMATION CLASS this week as Pastor will be out of town. In addition, our Tuesday evening Bible study class originally scheduled for March 8th has been rescheduled for March 1st.
PASTOR WILL BE ON VACATION from Wed., Mar. 2nd thru Tues., Mar. 8th. Pastor Bob Moeller will lead next Sunday’s worship service and Adult Bible Study Class and will be on call for pastoral emergencies. You may reach him at 605-321-1641. You may also contact any of our elders for assistance.
THANK YOU: We wish to thank the Ladies Aid and all the workers for serving the lunch at Bernard’s funeral, and all the people who brought cakes and pickles. We are so thankful to the members of this congregation for everything that was done for our family. Marie Wrenn and all the family.
COFFEE HOUR: If there is anyone who would like to be in one of the coffee hour groups, please speak with Diane.
THRIVENT MEMBERS: If you have a Thrivent account and have received a notice that you have Choice Dollars available to designate to an organization, St. Paul Lutheran Church does have an account set up there to receive Choice Dollars if you wish to designate them to us. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Leann Schulz-Thomas. Thanks, (s) Leann
LENTEN DEVOTIONS (written by Lutheran Hour Ministries) will be provided this year in both electronic and paper formats. The printed devotions will be available and distributed after next week’s worship service; extra copies will be available throughout the Lenten season in the library. If, instead, you wish to read the electronic version, please contact the Pastor for the website address.
LENTEN SEASON SOUP AND SANDWICH SUPPERS are being scheduled and planned. The first one will be on Ash Wednesday, Mar. 9th, with supper being served from 5:45 thru 6:45 only. If anybody – or a group – would like to volunteer to do one of the other Wednesday meals, please contact Diane at the church office (925-7219) or call her directly at 660-2911 right away so that we can organize our Lenten season events promptly. Thanks!
LADIES AID will meet Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Hostess will be Ella and Elsie Hein. Altar Guild for the month of March is Mildred and Visiting Helper is Julie Huber. All ladies of the congregation are invited to attend the meeting.
MAIN STREET LIVING:
March 6, 2011 Kid's Crossing, watch as Simon learns that we gain back as we give to others.
The featured speaker is Rev. David Ellis from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Menno and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Scotland, SD. The sermon theme is "Another Mountain Waits For Jesus - Mt. Calvary." The hymns are Open Now Thy Gates of Beauty; 'Tis Good, Lord, to be Here; and Abide, O Dearest Jesus. The Main Street Living Choir will provide the hymns. The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.
FREE NEW TESTAMENT CDs for our Lenten season challenge to listen to the New Testament between Ash Wednesday and Easter will be distributed after today’s worship service along with a schedule for you to track your progress if you wish. The CDs and schedule will also be available after next week’s service and throughout the Lenten season for those who are not here today. We also have available an abbreviated “Kidz Bible” version for our younger members. If you would like to have an extra CD to give to a friend or family member, that is encouraged as well; we have extras. These free CDs are yours to keep and use as often as you like. If you have questions on how to use them or have trouble getting yours to work, please contact any elder, Kristi Dannenbring (660-4139) or the pastor (999-5591) for help. Whether it be in your car, thru your TV at home, on your IPOD, your MP3 player or your computer, in just 28 minutes per day for the 40 days of Lent you can listen to the entire New Testament. Everyone is encouraged to participate and hear the Bible come alive!
