05-22-2016 Announcements

IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING – May 29, 2016, Rev. Samuel Bobby of St, Paul Lutheran Church Aberdeen SD presents today’s message “Just Marvelous” based on Luke 7: 9.  The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

ONCE AGAIN we welcome Rev. and Mrs. Scott Sailer as he proclaims the Word of God this day and leads us in Bible Study, preparatory to calling a new pastor.

THE KING AND HIS QUEEN, PART 2  In Bible study today, District President Sailer will lead us in considering more about the Queen’s (or Church’s) relationship, not only with her loving King, Jesus, who adores her and gave His life for her, but also with her shepherd and trainer (or Pastor).  There are obligations in this relationship for both the congregation and the pastor.  And guess what!  They’re all “saint-sinners”!

CONGREGATIONAL CHALLENGE - The 6th, 7th and 8th grade Sunday school class would like to do an outreach project for the food pantry at Bethany Mennonite Church.  They would like to challenge the congregation to bring shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, men's and women's deodorant, and Kleenex.   Paper products are in high demand.  Something positive coming from St. Paul would be a good thing.  We would like to do it for the month of May.

CHURCH CLEANING if you or know someone interested in cleaning the church please contact Jesse Thomas (605)-925-7713 or Dean Dreessen (605)-925-4462, thank you.

FEELING BLESSED Huge thank you to our congregation for your generosity. The youth group has met their goal of fund raising for the National Youth Gathering Trip to New Orleans.  We plan to share our experiences, give some testimonies and share with you some of what we learned after we get back. Again thank you.

HOSPITAL AUXILIARY FUND DRIVE:  It is a privilege to have the Freeman Regional Health Services in our community. We are having our annual fund drive during the month of May and are asking for donations that will help to purchase needed equipment for the hospital, nursing home, and clinic. We will have a free will basket in the fellowship hall during coffee hour TODAY May 22nd and also on the 29th. Your participation in this fund drive will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

LADIES AID will meet on June 2nd at 7:00 pm with Millie Gunderson as Hostess.  The Study of Angels will continue as the Bible Study with Pastor Weeman.  Millie Gunderson is on Altar Guild for June and Darlene Schrag is Visiting Helper.  Coffee Hour committee for June 5th is Millie Gunderson, Corrine Handel and Cindy Hofer.
