10-30-2016 Announcements

IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING – November 06:  Rev. Paul Winckler of Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City, South Dakota brings us today’s message “Seeing Clearly”. He bases the presentation on 1 John 3:2. The Main Street Living Choir will lead in the singing of: Blessed Jesus, At Thy Word: For All the Saints; and Love Divine, All Love Excelling, The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

QUARTERLY VOTERS MEETING -  Our Fall voters meeting will be held todayin the Fellowship Hall right after the worship service.  Please plan to attend.

BAZAAR SETUP:  We are planning to clean the kitchen & set up for the Bazaar today starting at 1:30 p.m., please come & help if you are able. 

No LADIES AID meeting in November – Attend the annual Church Bazaar on Nov. 3rd,  On Altar Guild for November are Bob and Karen Pidde.  Visiting Helper is Corrine Handel.  

OUR ANNUAL BAZAAR - will be held Thursday, Nov. 3rd from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will have a Stitchery/Craft/ Country Store Booth and the Lunch Counter. We have posted the food list and work schedule on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall and the refrigerator in the kitchen if you want to check what you have volunteered to prepare. If you have any questions regarding the work schedule please contact one of the committee members. We plan to have the kitchen door unlocked by 7:15 a.m.  Also please put a checkmark by your name on the food list when you bring your donations. If you have prepared your food earlier and then froze it, please make sure it is unthawed when you bring it. A sincere Thank You to everyone that has volunteered to bring food and also all the workers. See you Thursday Nov. 3rd for a day of good food and fellowship.

LWMLYankton Zone Fall Rally at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tyndall on Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 a.m.until 1:00 p.m..  Thetopic will be Women in the Gospel of Luke.  For more info see the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.  Call Julie Huber if you would like a ride.

SNOW REMOVAL:  the trustees are accepting snow removal bids for the parking lot and sidewalks including the parsonage.  Please contact Jesse Thomas 605-925-7713 if interested.

MAIN STREET LIVING – October 30, 2016 Rev. Albert Sutton of Evergreen Lutheran Church in Porcupine, SD brings today’s message titled “Jesus is Coming to Town” based on Luke 19: 1-10.  The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired
 
SAMARITAN MEETING - Today at 5:30 in the Fellowship Hall.  Fall/Winter Planning meeting with a simple supper provided. Anyone interested in joining now would be a great time to do so.  Direct questions to Diane S, LaNae H or Kristi D

MENTOR/MENTEE -  will be meeting on today at 7:00pm Pumpkin festivities & devotion planned by M/M Team Betsy and Morgan.  Bring ideas and any supplies you may want to enhance your pumpkin. (Pumpkins will be provided) Also mark your calendar for next month meeting it will be our Christmas party on Nov 28th with planning M/M Team Heidi and Andrea.  Watch for more details in November.

RURAL MINISTRY CONFERENCE - will be held on October 29, 2016 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

MAIN STREET LIVING – October 23:  Rev. Kenneth Soyk of Faith Lutheran in Parkston and St. Peter Lutheran in Clayton, SD, brings today’s message, “You Belong To Two Kingdoms”, which is based on Matthew 22:15-22. The Main Street Living Choir will lead the singing of: All People That On Earth Do Dwell; Blest Be the Tie That Binds; and I Love Your Kingdom Lord. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

CALL MEETING - There will be a call meeting on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:30 p.m..  We will be voting on a pastor to place a call.

WEEKDAY SCHOOL -  will not be meeting on October 19

POTLUCK TODAY:  Everyone is welcome. The Youth Group will be hosting a potluck at 11:30 as a delayed Thank you to the congregation for all the support in helping us get to New Orleans. The Youth Group will provide grilled brats and hotdogs, drinks along with the Youth Group families will provide desserts. We are asking the congregation to bring a side or salad to share and come to enjoy fellowship.

COFFEE HOUR TODAY Sunday(9th) will be coffee/ juice only but please plan to attend the potluck at 11:30.  Sunday school kids will be provided a small snack upstairs.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY for this week will be on THURSDAY,  October 13 at 6am instead of Wednesday.
 
THE CHOIR will rehearse immediately after the church service today because of the potluck dinner at 11:30.

CALL MEETING - There will be a call meeting on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:30 p.m..  We will be voting on a pastor to place a call.

LWML will meet on Thursday October 13th. at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Gerry will serve lunch.

THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE – has started making plans for the November 3rd event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food donations are needed for chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, chili soup, chicken sandwich meat, tavern, salads, pies, cake, pickles, crackers & coffee. We will also need workers for the day and evening shifts. We are planning on a Crafts/Stitchery & Baked/Canned booth and the Lunch Counter. Please see or call Sharon Pfeiffer (925-7604), Kelli Broders (925-7502), or Penny Smidt (925-4292) if you are willing to donate food or work.

WEEKDAY SCHOOL will not be meeting on October 19

CONFIRMATION CLASS will not be meeting on October 12

MAIN STREET LIVING – October 9: Rev. Dr. Christopher Ascher, Pastor at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD, delivers today’s message “Roots”, based on Ruth 1: 1-19. The Main Street Living Choir will lead the singing of: O For a Thousand Tongues To Sing; Blest Be the Tie That Binds; and O That the Lord Would Guide My Ways. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

THANK  YOU PASTOR CHRISTOPHER, for leading us in worship this evening!  We sincerely appreciate your Christian service to our Lord, to His church and to our congregation!

NOTE TIME CHANGE:   The choir will begin rehearsals at 11:20.  All ages are welcome!

LADIES AID - will meet on Oct. 6th at 7:00 pm with Cindy Hofer as Hostess.  Bible Study on Angels will be led by Pastor Weeman followed by the business meeting.  Bob and Karen Pidde are on Altar Guild for October and Garnet Stern and Lee Lagendyk are Visiting Helpers for October.
