11-20-2016 Announcements

IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING – November 27: Today’s message is given by Rev. David Lindenberg of Peace Lutheran Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. The sermon “Walking in the Light of the Lord” is based on Isaiah 2: 1-5. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

MENTOR/MENTEE GROUP: Team members Heidi and Andrea will host the Christmas party this evening at 6:00  p.m., at the Blues restaurant.  Bring a white elephant gift to exchange.

BAZAAR Follow-Up - We want to thank everyone again who contributed in any way toward making our 52nd annual bazaar a success. The total income for this year was $6434.15. We had a $250.00 prepaid Visa card through the Thrivent Action Team which we used to purchase the milk, orange drink, buns, and other supplies needed for the bazaar. Thanks – The Bazaar Committee.

PRAYERS FOR OUR MILITARY  Due to the recent activation of the Parkston and Huron guard units there are several from our community who have been activated.  If you have a family member or friend who is serving in the military and would like them on a prayer list please contact Denise Peterson at 605-421-1266 or e-mail her at peterson220@goldenwest.net.  Please include their names and where they are currently stationed.  I will then make a list and publish it in the bulletin.

LADIES AID will meet on FRIDAY Dec. 2nd at 7:00 p.m. and continue with the Bible Study on Angels with Pastor Weeman followed by the Business meeting.  Members are to bring Christmas goodies for lunch.  On Altar Guild for December is Joan Dreessen.  Coffee Hour Committee for Dec. 4th is Darlene Schrag, Mildred Siekmann and Joan Dreessen.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK the members and friends of St. Paul Lutheran for the cards, memorials, phone calls, text messages, Facebook posts and most importantly the prayers following the sudden death of our grandson Christopher. Your thoughtfulness and love for our family during this difficult time continues to warm our hearts.

~ God’s Blessings to all of you, Pastor John and Maxine Farden

There will be NO WEEKDAY SCHOOL on  November 23.

PLEASE PLAN on helping decorating the church for Christmas on Friday, November 25 at 5:30 p.m.  All help is greatly appreciated.
