11-04-2018 Announcements

HOLY COMMUNION is celebrated in our worship service today.  What a joy and privilege!  In this Sacrament our Lord gives unto us not only bread and wine, but also His very body and blood to eat and drink.  In this Sacrament He assures us that our sins are forgiven and He strengthens our faith.  To our guests who desire to receive Holy Communion, we ask that you consider the following:  If you do not believe in Jesus as your Savior, do not believe in the Real Presence of the Sacrament, or have never received instruction on how to prepare yourself for Communion, you should refrain from receiving the Sacrament, but are encouraged to come to the altar for a blessing, indicated by folding the arms over the chest.  We do this not to offend, but to honor the faith we hold at St. Paul Lutheran.  If you have any questions regarding communion, please speak to the Pastor or an Elder before service begins

IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not know Christ as they could, that they would accept the invitation to come to Church with you to hear God's Word preached in its purity, and see the Sacraments rightly administered.

MAIN STREET LIVING – November 11,2018: Worship Service-The message is presented by Rev. Robert Moeller, Jr, Pastor at St. John’s Lutheran in Trosky, MN; Our Saviour’s Lutheran in Pipestone MN: and Trinity Lutheran in Jasper, MN.  The message “Jesus Watches the Offering” is based on Mark 12: 41-44.  Additional information is available on the web site: www.mainstreetliving.com. .

YES, we are having Communion today!  My apologies for not making the announcement earlier, but we are having Communion on the first and second Sundays this month due to today's All Saint's Day celebration, and don't forget the opportunity to commune on Thanksgiving Day! – Pastor

THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE extends a hearty THANK YOU to each of you that helped make our Bazaar another successful event, all your donations, hard work, and the support you showed us by attending were greatly appreciated. We should have the total receipts for the day calculated within the next couple of weeks. Thanks again.

YOUTH GROUP MEETING  November 18th at 7pm. All teens grades 7-12 are welcome.

DID you miss church last Sunday?  Go to Facebook.com/stpaulfreeman and click "like".  All sermons for a month are being posted there to listen to if you were away, or to review if you so desire.

COULD YOU HELP those who cannot get to church any longer?  Video recordings of the services are being made to give to those who have mobility issues and cannot get to church (Nursing homes, shut ins).

Many, who have not been able to attend church in years say; "Oh!  This is great.  I so miss going to church and this is close to being there again!".  We could use some volunteers who can deliver these DVD recordings on a regular basis (possibly each week), along with a printed service and bulletin (if able to see), so that when they watch the service in their homes or care center, they can sing and listen right along with us.  Please contact me if you would like to help in this way.  Pastor Makelin

A NEW RESOURCE IS AVAILABLE; "Alive in Christ" a Funeral Practices and Planning Guide, located in the racks.
