IN YOUR PRAYERS Pray this week for; Those who are recovering from surgery, hospitalization, or sudden illnesses (_______) and for those who have long term health issues and/or difficulty coming to services on their own (Connie, Bernice, Henrietta, Lee, Lavonne, Delores, Lorna, Melton, Millie, Ruth, Alice, Marlene, Norby).

MAIN STREET LIVING – January 13, 2019: Rev. Daniel Grimmer of Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD.  Rev. Grimmer shares with us how he came to the ministry and the importance of the scripture lesson. HELP NEEDED - We will be taking down the Christmas decorations this afternoon at 1:00. All help will be appreciated.

ATTENTION DARTBALL PLAYERS: The 2019 season will soon begin.  There will be a PRACTICE TODAY, at 3:00 pm at St. Paul/Freeman.  If you have not played dartball and are interested come to this practice and check it out.  (Men. women,and teenagers are welcome to participate.)  There is no cost.  THE FIRST GAME is Monday, January 7,2019—Mitchell at Freeman.  Game time is 7:30 pm.  For more information, call Rev. NEW MEMBER CLASSES start in January.  The Bible study on Tuesday nights (7:00pm) have been slowly going through Lutheranism 101, but will switch to covering Basic Christian Doctrine (which could lead to membership) in five weeks.  People who may be interested are possible new members, catechism kids (study ahead or catch up), other denominations (we can cover differences in teachings at the end), or anyone who would like to review the basic doctrines of the faith. Dates are; Jan 8, 15, 22, 28 and February 5.  Please let pastor know so he can have materials ready.

USHER LIST is up please sign up to help usher for the year 2019.

ANNUAL REPORTS please give them to Pastor, Aleta Starner or Denise Peterson.  We would like to have the report done by the quarterly meeting in January, thank you.  The reports that are needed:  Elders report, Melcher Scholarship Fund, Board of Evangelism, Youth Group, Trustees report, Mentor-Mentee, Samarian Report, LWML, and Treasurer’s report.

HOLIDAY CHEER:  On December 20th the Visiting Committee delivered “Holiday Best Wishes” in the form of a personal visit, a Christmas card, and a bud vase containing a carnation & evergreens to the following church members. Susan Cox, Alice Fliginger, Norby & Marlene Geidel, Millie Gunderson, Ella Hein, Connie Hinckley, Wyona Hofer, LaVonne Knittel, Ruth Koerner, Lee Lagendyk, Melton & Lorna Langle,  Bernice Pfeiffer, Delores Pidde, Henrietta Rhoades, Myron Schaffer, also Betty Bender & Reno Mettler.  Christmas cards were sent to June Heckenlaible in California, Lucille Rembold in Miller, and Marie Wrenn in Sioux City, IA.

If anyone has bud vases they no longer need please bring them to the church kitchen and mark them for the visiting committee, we will start saving vases for our next year deliveries. Thank you very much.

THE PURPOSE OF THE “MISSION-MINISTRY OF THE MONTH” is to highlight the missions-ministries St. Paul already supports (either directly or by budgeted mission offerings), and/or those missions-ministries we would like to encourage supporting through a free-will offering basket, set by the kitchen window.  You are not obligated to contribute, but all free will contributions will be collected for the month and sent at that time.  You, of course, may also directly contribute to any highlighted mission/ministry at any time, as you are inclined.

OUR MISSION-MINISTRY OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY is the Native American Ministries (which this month is also one of the missions supported by the South Dakota District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod). - SEE INSERT
