KEEP ON DOING
THIS. When Jesus said, “Do this”, in giving the LORD’S SUPPER, He
used a verb form which means, “Keep on doing this”, or, “Do it again and
again!”. As we keep on doing what He has here commanded us to do, we also want
to keep on witnessing to the truth of His Word. For this reason, the
churches of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod promise to follow the historical
Biblical practice of closed communion. Guests who desire to
commune are kindly asked to speak with the Pastor before partaking, or cross
their arms across the chest at the rail to receive a blessing.
THE FLOWERS on the altar are
in honor of Kenneth and Corrine Handel’s 60th Wedding
Anniversary, from their children and grandchildren.

COUNCIL MEETING on
July 15 at 7:00 p.m.
CIRCUIT WINKEL on
July 16 will be held here at St Paul Lutheran Church at 9:00 a.m.
SAVE THE DATE: Parents
of this fall's sixth and seventh graders. Please save August 26th at
7:00pm for a meeting. Confirmation will hopefully start after Labor Day and we
hope that it is an in-person class. I ask that parent/sponsor attend class with
the confirmand for at least the first year. This meeting will give
expectations, materials, and a chance to speak with one another to decide what
date/time it will work best for all families, so bring your calendars and
schedules. More information to follow when it gets closer to the date. -

MAIN STREET LIVING: This is

GOOD WORKS DO NOT SAVE ME, BUT
THE SAVED ME, DOES GOOD WORKS. Please contact me if interested in
being on a "Help Offered" list for service work for the elderly in
our church and the community of Freeman such as; picking up mail/groceries,
routine check-ins coordinated with family, small painting projects, toting,
lifting, brush/leaf clearing, cleaning, or perhaps you have some ideas. You may
even be "elderly" yourself, but can and want to help your neighbor
however you can. Please, give me a call- Pastor
IF YOU FIND YOURSELF SHUTTERED
AT HOME
and need someone to do something for you, or are a family member of
someone who is, but could use someone to check in on your loved one, also
please give me a call and I will try to connect you to those volunteers above.

SEVERAL MISSIONS/MINISTRIES
WERE NOT HIGHLIGHTED IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. In
April, the Orphan Grain
Train
(POB 1466, Norfolk, NE 68702-1466) was scheduled to come give a
presentation but was postponed. We are now looking at scheduling something in
September. In addition, the Lenten dinners were also not held and so the Youth
Group did not benefit from your contributions. Other missed opportunities
to support missions and ministry efforts were for May: IssuesEtc.org
(P.O. Box 83, Collinsville, IL 62234), a syndicated radio talk show and
podcast, and Freeman Regional Health Services Foundation (510 E. 8th St.
PO Box 370 Freeman, SD 57029). And in June: LCMS Disaster Response (via
Lutheran Church Missouri Synod).
in
July consider supporting future pastor and deaconess formation by
supporting the Joint Seminary Fund (via Lutheran Church Missouri Synod,
1333 S. Kirkwood Rd. St. Louis, MO 63122) or each individually seminary (Adopt-A-Student
- Concordia Seminary St. Louis Advancement office 800.822-5287 or,
Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne at 260.452.2167)
Thank
you for considering these Missions/Ministries.
