10-30-2016 Announcements

MAIN STREET LIVING – November 06:  Rev. Paul Winckler of Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City, South Dakota brings us today’s message “Seeing Clearly”. He bases the presentation on 1 John 3:2. The Main Street Living Choir will lead in the singing of: Blessed Jesus, At Thy Word: For All the Saints; and Love Divine, All Love Excelling, The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

QUARTERLY VOTERS MEETING -  Our Fall voters meeting will be held todayin the Fellowship Hall right after the worship service.  Please plan to attend.

BAZAAR SETUP:  We are planning to clean the kitchen & set up for the Bazaar today starting at 1:30 p.m., please come & help if you are able. 

No LADIES AID meeting in November – Attend the annual Church Bazaar on Nov. 3rd,  On Altar Guild for November are Bob and Karen Pidde.  Visiting Helper is Corrine Handel.  

OUR ANNUAL BAZAAR - will be held Thursday, Nov. 3rd from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will have a Stitchery/Craft/ Country Store Booth and the Lunch Counter. We have posted the food list and work schedule on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall and the refrigerator in the kitchen if you want to check what you have volunteered to prepare. If you have any questions regarding the work schedule please contact one of the committee members. We plan to have the kitchen door unlocked by 7:15 a.m.  Also please put a checkmark by your name on the food list when you bring your donations. If you have prepared your food earlier and then froze it, please make sure it is unthawed when you bring it. A sincere Thank You to everyone that has volunteered to bring food and also all the workers. See you Thursday Nov. 3rd for a day of good food and fellowship.

LWMLYankton Zone Fall Rally at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tyndall on Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 a.m.until 1:00 p.m..  Thetopic will be Women in the Gospel of Luke.  For more info see the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.  Call Julie Huber if you would like a ride.

POTLUCK TODAY:  Everyone is welcome. The Youth Group will be hosting a potluck at 11:30 as a delayed Thank you to the congregation for all the support in helping us get to New Orleans. The Youth Group will provide grilled brats and hotdogs, drinks along with the Youth Group families will provide desserts. We are asking the congregation to bring a side or salad to share and come to enjoy fellowship.

COFFEE HOUR TODAY Sunday(9th) will be coffee/ juice only but please plan to attend the potluck at 11:30.  Sunday school kids will be provided a small snack upstairs.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY for this week will be on THURSDAY,  October 13 at 6am instead of Wednesday.
 
THE CHOIR will rehearse immediately after the church service today because of the potluck dinner at 11:30.

CALL MEETING - There will be a call meeting on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:30 p.m..  We will be voting on a pastor to place a call.

LWML will meet on Thursday October 13th. at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Gerry will serve lunch.

NEEDED:  Seeking someone who would be willing to pick up an individual who is not able to drive and who desires to attend church.  If you are willing to help, see Pastor Ellis.  Thank you.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERSThere will be a meeting for all Sunday School teachers today, after church in the High School Youth room.  We will be distributing curriculum, setting the calendar, and gathering needed supplies.

IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

MAIN STREET LIVING – August 28th  - Today’s message “Jesus is Always the Same” in presented by Rev. Richard Milbrandt of St. Paul Lutheran in Plankinton, and Trinity Lutheran Church in White Lake, South Dakota. The scriptural base is Hebrews 13:1-8. The Main Street Living Choir will lead the singing of: Christ is Our Cornerstone; I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus; and Abide With Me. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

NEEDED:  Seeking someone who would be willing to pick up an individual who is not able to drive and who desires to attend church.  If you are willing to help, see Pastor Ellis.  Thank you.

GARDENING HELPERS needed for an hour or two on August 26th- the youth group has been helping with the community gardens this summer and their last scheduled week is the week school starts. Since the youth will be in class we are hopeful that a few congregation members could help pick produce on Friday morning August 26th to take to the food pantry for distribution.  Anyone interested or willing please contact Kristi Dannenbring for more information.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERSThere will be a meeting for all Sunday School teachers on Sunday, August 28th, after church in the High School Youth room.  We will be distributing curriculum, setting the calendar, and gathering needed supplies. 

LADIES AID will meet on Sept. 1st at 7:00pm  with Mildred Siekmann as Hostess.  Bible Study with Pastor Weeman on Angels will be followed by the business meeting. Sharon Buechler  is Altar Guild for September and Visiting Helper is Darlene Schrag.  Coffee Hour committee for September 4th is Phyllis Knittel, Lee Lagendyk and Sharon Pfeiffer.
