4-25-10 Announcements

VOTER’S MEETING will be held next after church service.

ATTENTION LADIES OF THE CONGREATION: Sunday,
May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. will be our Mother/Daughter banquet (potluck).
Please invite mothers, daughters, granddaughters, friends, etc.

THE EXAMINATION SERVICE will be on Saturday evening, May
8th at 7:00 p.m. and Confirmation will be on Sunday, May 9th at
9:30. Our confirmands are, Paige Albrecht, Nicole Hinckley, Matthew
Peterson and Maria Starner.

LUTHERAN WITNESS: If you know of any address changes that
need to be made to the Lutheran Witness, please let me know. Or if you
are not receiving the Lutheran Witness and would like to, please let me
know. Diane

BANQUET UPDATE: We still need lots of help serving at the Banquet
and help with preparing the meal. Transportation will be available for those who need it. Be at the church by 4:00 p.m. If you are helping to prepare the meal, please talk to Joan. This years menu will be, Barbeques, baked beans, tator tots and bananas. Donations of 1% milk and coffee will be accepted. You can leave them in the kitchen. Please remember, no open toed shoes. No low cut tops of short tops. No shorts above the knee. Your help is greatly appreciated.

MAIN STREET LIVING:

May 2nd Kid's Crossing, watch as Janitor Bob shows how those that love Jesus obey His Commands and the laws of God.
The featured speaker is Rev. Terry Naasz from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookings, SD. The sermon theme is "Eyes on the Prize." The hymns are My Hope Is Built on Nothing Else; Let Us Ever Walk with Jesus; and Jesus Shall Reign Where the Sun. The Main Street Living Choir will provide the hymns. The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

“I HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR YOU”: Pastor Kramer will be starting and adult instruction class, titled, “I Have Good News for You.” It covers the basic Christian doctrines in ten lessons, each lasting about an hour and a half. Upon completion of the course, you may join the church, but there is no obligation to do so. The course is also an excellent Biblical review for those who are already members. If you are interested, please speak to the pastor or sign up on the bulletin board. We will try to work with your schedules; cassette tapes will be also available for those unable to attend class. Tentative time- Sunday after services or any weekday evening.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS: If you are able to volunteer driving another member of the church to a doctor appointment or other appointments, please speak to Diane.

SUNDAY SCHOOL DATES TO NOTE:
May 23rd – End of Sunday School year for summer break
June 27th, July 25th & August 29th- We will have the Sunday School children meet after church on the last Sunday of each month through out the summer. Week of July 18th – VBS; evenings (watch for more details)
Sept 12th- Sunday School year begins
Please prayerfully consider helping with VBS or SS. Anyone interested please contact any education board member; Kristi, Lisa or Amber.

PORTALS OF PRAYER: If you or if there is someone you know who
would like to receive the Portals of Prayer in large print, please sign up on
the sheet in fellowship hall.
