12-18-2011 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Bob, Travis, Connie, Kermit, Herb and all others who are recovering from surgery and illness, those being treated for cancer, our shut-in members and, especially during the Christmas Season, at least two people who don’t know Christ.

CHRISTMAS WORSHIP SERVICES – We invite you to join us as we celebrate the birthday of our Savior and Friend, our Master and Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Our Christmas Eve Children’s Program will be held next Saturday, the 24th, at 7:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars and come rejoice with us as our youth present the Christmas story and as we worship our Creator and Redeemer. Our Christmas Day service will be Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Both services will be filled with your favorite Christmas hymns so bring a friend with you!

PARENTS OF SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN – Please make note of the following dates for our Christmas Program Practice Schedule:
Today:: 11:30am-1:45pm (lunch will be provided)
Wed., Dec. 21st:: 5pm-6pm

NO MIDWEEK SCHOOL or CONFIRMATION CLASSES on the last 2 Wednesdays of December. Christmas Break will only be 2 weeks long, though; both classes will resume January 4th!

A CHRISTMAS SEASON GOAL for you to consider: During this last week before Christmas, contact (personally or by phone) one non-attending member whom you know; lovingly give them a word of encouragement and invite them to our children’s program on Christmas Eve or our Sunday worship service on Christmas Day. “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Samaritan Ladies for their time and effort last Wednesday to provide our soup and sandwich supper! They did an excellent job as did the Andersen family and the Men’s Bible Study Group the prior two Wednesdays. Thank you very much for your service!

LADIES AID will be meeting on January 5th at 7 p.m. Our regular business meeting will include the election of a Vice-Chairman and Secretary for a 2 year term. Nominated for Vice-Chairman are Garnet Stern & Marie Wrenn; and nominated for Secretary are Phyllis Knittel & Corrine Handel. All ladies of the congregation are invited to our meetings.

PLEASE PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER using your God-given gifts and talents in service to Him and our church. We will need the following offices to be filled. Please contact one of the Elders or the Chairman if you are willing to have your name placed on the ballot for: Chairman, Elder, Trustee, Board of Education, Evangelism, Usher and congregation Secretary.

CHRISTMAS SACKS: If you would like to make a donation for the children’s Christmas gift sacks, please see Bob Pidde after the service this Sunday.

WANTED: DARTBALL PLAYERS! Young and old, men and ladies, you are invited to join us for dartball this year. Please contact Dean or Orville if you are interested in playing.

THE LADIES AID will be doing their annual matching funds Christmas project for Main Street Living from November 27th through December 18th. There will be a freewill offering basket in the Fellowship Hall; the amount collected will be matched by the Ladies Aid. Your continued generosity is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

COFFEE HOUR GROUP SCHEDULE FOR 2012 There are copies of the Coffee Hour Schedule on the kitchen window sill in the Secretary’s basket. Thank you for all the goodies that everyone has brought; they have been enjoyed by all.
