09-14-2014 Announcements

N YOUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs as well as our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – Sept. 14th – The featured speaker is Rev. Richard Milbrandt of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Plankinton and Trinity Lutheran Church in White Lake.  His sermon theme will be “How Much Forgiveness is Enough.”  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

PRAYERS FOR THE SD DISTRICT – These last 2 weeks you may have noticed that we included in our congregational prayers a prayer for 2 SD pastors and their congregations.  The Board of Elders and Pastor decided to use this format to follow the Bible’s admonition in Eph. 6:18 to pray for all of the saints.  We will continue to include 2 of our District’s pastors and their congregations each week until we have gone through the whole District roster.  We encourage each of you to also keep these fellow Christian brothers and sisters in your prayers.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

CHOIR REHEARSALS will begin today at 11:30.   All voices welcome!

THE ACTIVITY DEPARTMENT AT THE SALEM MENNONITE HOME is in need of some volunteer helpers.  If you would be able to donate a bit of your time to assist us in any way, please call Denise Peterson at the Salem Mennonite Home at 925-4994.

THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE - has started making plans for the November 6th event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food donations are needed for chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, chili soup, chicken sandwich meat, tavern, salads, pies, cake, pickles, crackers & coffee. We will also need workers for the day and evening shifts. We will again have the Country Store, Stitchery/Craft Booth and the Lunch Counter. Please see or call Corrine Handel (925-7433), Darlene Schrag (925-7767), Mildred Siekmann (925-7050), or Sharon Pfeiffer (925-7604), if you are willing to donate food or work.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON snacks – There is a Fall Semester sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for those who wish to donate snacks for our Confirmation Class students.  If you are planning to provide snacks, please choose your preferred dates early so that we have time to cover the remaining open dates.  Thanks!
