05-24-2015 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we continue to remember the families in Delmont and in other areas of the country who have suffered injuries and loss from the recent tornados.  In addition, please keep Rev. Dr. Vern Schindler (son-in-law of Pauline Walz) and his family in your prayers for his open heart surgery and his recovery.  We also pray for all others who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – May 24th – The featured speaker is Rev. Randy Sturzenbecher of Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Black Hawk.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

Delmont Relief Fund – The church building and parsonage of Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont were destroyed by a tornado on Sunday, May 10th.  In addition, the homes of 5 of Zion’s families were either destroyed or damaged by the storm.  Miraculously, no lives were lost.  Rather than sending donations directly to Zion, a fund has been established at The South Dakota District Office to receive donations to assist with relief efforts.  Donations should be sent to:
The South Dakota District, LCMS
P.O. Box 89110, Sioux Falls, SD 57109-9110
Checks should be made payable to:  The South Dakota District LCMS and earmarked:  “Delmont Relief Fund.”  Thank you for your assistance.

ANNUAL DIAPER DERBY:  LFL will be accepting donations of diapers and other baby items starting Mother's Day, May 10th, through Father's Day, June 21st.  Please place your items in the crib located in the fellowship hall.  Items will be donated to local and regional families in need.

FUNERAL SERVICE – The funeral service for Bobbi Salis will be held on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 p.m.  Coffee and light refreshments will be available beginning at 6:00 as well as after the service.  Everyone is welcome to attend the service and the fellowship times.  Please keep the family in your prayers.  Thanks!

HOSPITAL AUXILIARY FUND DRIVE:  It is a privilege to have the Freeman Regional Health Services in our community. We are having our annual fund drive during the month of May and are asking for donations that will help to purchase needed equipment for the hospital, nursing home, and clinic. We will have a free will basket in the fellowship hall during coffee hour TODAY May 24th. Your participation in this fund drive will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
