08/16/2015 Announcements

IN OUR PRAYERS this week we pray for Melton Langle (still hospitalized) and all others who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – Aug. 16th – The featured speaker is Rev. Tom Christopher of St. Martin Lutheran in Alexandria, St. John Lutheran in Emery and Trinity Lutheran in Spencer.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP  will have a meeting starting at 4:30 followed by a simple supper this afternoon. New officers will be elected for the up coming school year.

THE BOE is having a Rally Day potluck the first day of SS
after Sunday School-Sept. 13, 2015.  Please plan to come
and bring something to share. Maybe group B would be willing to help with the potluck  since there wouldn't  need to be a coffee hour.

BOE is currently looking for one Wed. teacher and several Sunday school teachers for the fall term. Please consider helping and contact a BOE member.

NEW ADDRESS – Kermit Schrag has moved.  His new address is:  Oakview Terrace Nursing Home, Room 327-B, P. O. Box 370, Freeman, SD 57029-0370.

NEW MEMBER WELCOME – We welcome Orville Ellwein as a new (and returning!) member to our congregation.  Orville, now a widower, was a member when he was married here in 1962.  He is currently living at Oakview Terrance Nursing Home.  We ask everyone to stop by and welcome him back into our church family if you are visiting at the Home or send him a card if you wish.
