BAPTISM OF HANK PETERS – We joyfully welcome Hank James Peters into our Christian family today through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism!  We thank God for giving him new birth, true faith, salvation and eternal life, and we pray that God’s holy angels will watch over him throughout his life.  Hank is the son of Chris and Jenny Peters.  Please greet them in the receiving line following our worship service.

THE FLOWERS on the altar this morning are in honor of Pauline Walz. Congratulate her as she celebrates her 102nd birthday.

MAIN STREE LIVING – June 30^th – Kid’s Crossing tells Lily of a mistake that leads to a confession with consequences.  The featured speaker is Rev. David Otten from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dimock.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

HELLO PARENTS AND STUDENTS: We are planning to do an informal SS the last Sunday of each month this summer. We will be meeting in the Jr High class room right after church. You may grab your snacks and come upstairs. We will have beverages there for you. Please plan on coming for a small devotion/prayer and Christian movie in lieu of our monthly movie nights- at least during the summer. Hope to see you all there. RECIPES NEEDED:  Response to the cookbook project has been slow.  PLEASE submit your recipes as soon as possible.  If you have already submitted recipes PLEASE consider submitting a few more.   Many more recipes are needed to make a quality cookbook that will represent our congregation to the community.

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember Bryan Olesen and his family as they mourning the passing of Bryan’s father, those who are hospitalized, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Today is MISSION SUNDAY.  Our guest pastor today is Rev. Alan Ludwig who has been working with the Siberian Evangelical Lutheran Church for the last 13 years.  His work principally entails training and preparing Russian-speaking pastors to be able to serve existing churches and new start-up churches throughout Siberia and other Russian territories.  See your bulletin insert for additional information.  Prior to moving to Siberia, Rev. Ludwig served the Lutheran churches in Cresbard and Wecota (SW of Aberdeen).  Rev. Ludwig will also have a short presentation for us during the first part of our Fellowship Hour after our worship service.  Everyone is encouraged to stay for our fellowship time and Rev. Ludwig’s discussion session.  There is a basket in the Fellowship Hall for your donations to help support his mission work.  Whatever help you can give will be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

EXCITING NEWS:  The Samaritan group is planning to print a St. Paul Lutheran cookbook.  It is our hope to include up to 3 recipes from each member.  In the next week you will receive by mail your recipe collection sheets along with complete instructions.  All recipes must be submitted by June 30.  It is our intention to have the books for sale at the Bazaar in November.   

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS – Next week we will be accepting donations to provide Military Biblesticks (a field-friendly Audio Bible preloaded with the New Testament) to our military chaplains overseas for use in counseling sessions, Bible studies, chapel services, etc.  Several thousand have already been shipped; many more have been requested.  Thank you for supporting our men and women in uniform and thank you for helping to bring God’s Word of comfort and hope to them!

NATIONAL CONVENTION OFFERING – The next 2 weeks (June 9^th and 16^th) we will be accepting a freewill offering for the upcoming national convention to help support the work of our Synod, both at home and abroad.  Please see the bulletin insert for additional information.

Main Street Living – June 2^nd – Kid’s Crossing shows how those who love Jesus obey Him and God’s laws.  The featured speaker is Rev. Kevin Vogt from Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dakota Dunes.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

TODAY IS SUNDAE SUNDAY : We invite the congregation to join us for fun activities and delicious ice cream right after service today!  The Board of Ed has a full schedule of activities planned.  We will be recognizing those that are so important to our Sunday School and Weekday/Confirmation program.  Attendance awards will be handed out as well as gather the participants for our Crazy Hat/Hair Sunday to take a photo and give prizes.  Hope to see you there!

SENIOR SUNDAY

We welcome you to our Senior Sunday worship service today where our 2 high school graduates [Mitchell Kleinsasser and Stefanie Ruml] and 4 college graduates [Jeremy Albrecht, Trisha Langle, Karissa Podzimek and Sara Ruml] will receive a blessing from the church.  We pray that God will give them guidance and wisdom for the decisions about their life that they will be making in the years to come and that they will grow ever closer to Him in faith with their lives honoring the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Everyone is invited to stay for the reception after the service.

THE HOSPICE FOUNDATION OF AMERICA will provide a videoconference on “Improving Care for Veterans Facing Illness and Death” on April 23^rd from 12:30 thru 4:00 in the Freeman Regional Hospital’s conference room.  The conference is open to the public and is free of charge.  Preregistration is requested but not required.  Please call LaVonne Brockmueller at 925-2120 if you have any questions or to preregister.

ST PAUL MOVIE NIGHT: Looking for something fun to do? This months movie involves Neighboring gardens of Montague & Capulet which are at war; but the gnomes - Gnomeo & Juliet are in love. Join us for a little adventure that goes a LAWN way when we show "Gnomeo & Juliet" Sat evening April 20th at 6:30 pm.  Hope to see you all there.

MIDWEEK CLASSES – This Wednesday will be the last Midweek Class for the year.  Many thanks to all of the youth who attended, to Rev. Weeman for teaching the classes and to everyone who provided snacks and refreshments!

The time for serving THE BANQUET   has arrived.  There is still room for more help if you are interested.  The sign-up sheet will remain posted 

until Tuesday.  For those of us going early to prepare the meal, please meet at the church at 12:45 so we can depart by 1:00 pm.  If you are going up on your own, please be there by 2:00 pm.   All of those who will be serving the meal, please meet at the church by 4:00 pm unless you are going up on your own.  We are to arrive by 5:15 pm.

     The menu will be:      Tator Tot Hot Dish (with mixed veggies)

                                         Bread

                                         Oranges and Bananas

                                         Cookies

                                         Milk and Coffee

GAMES AND PUZZLES – We will also be doing a game/puzzle drive for The Banquet throughout March.  We are asking for new or slightly used board games, puzzles and color/activity books.  We ask if the games or puzzles have been used that you please check to see that no pieces are missing.  The Banquet will distribute these items at a later date but we will have someone transport them that evening to Sioux Falls.  There is a large plastic tub in the Fellowship Hall for collecting these items.  Last couple of weeks to help support this!

The TRUSTEES will be taking bids on lawn mowing for this summer.  If you would like to submit a bid, please contact one of the trustees, Morgan Kleinsasser, Darren Walz or Matt Rigo.

FAYE TRUWE (a former teacher in our Lutheran school) will be retiring at the end of this school year.  Her daughter has requested that we send pictures and notes about our memories of Faye’s work here.  These will be included in a scrapbook being prepared for Faye’s retirement party.  Additional information has been posted on the bulletin board.

THANKS FROM THE FREEMAN MINISTERIAL:  Thank you for your recent annual donation to the Freeman Ministerial. These funds assist transient individuals needing food, gas or shelter as they come through our community. Thanks for your congregation's generosity for this ministry of hospitality. “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” – Matt. 25:35

CRAZY SUNDAY:  The Board of Education would like to reward the students for all their hard work and dedication by arranging a "Crazy" Sunday activity. This is meant to be a fun and entertaining activity. Once a month for the remaining spring quarter we will have a "crazy" theme encouraging the teachers and students to be creative and dress up or down, with class photos being taken and a winner chosen from each class. So please do not be alarmed if you see some of our congregation not in typical Sunday attire. We hope the congregation will have fun also and support our youth in this activity.  Thank You.
