IN YOUR PRAYERS - this week please remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

MAIN STREET LIVING – September 18^th . Rev. Scott Sailer, President of the South Dakota District LCMS, brings today’s message “A Lesson in Shrewdness” based on Luke 16: 1-13. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL - will begin today right after the church service.

 

WEEKDAY SCHOOL - will begin on Wednesday, September 14^th at 4:30 p.m.

 

THE 19TH ANNUAL BIKE FOR LIFE will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24.  We will once again be riding from Armour to the Alpha Center in Sioux Falls on a mission to "save babies, one mile at a time". If you are interested in riding please go to our website, bikeforlifesd.org to register. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, you can do so through our website or send checks to SESD Lutherans for Life, PO Box 265, Menno SD 57045. Please mark the checks with Bike For Life in the check memo. THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE – has started making plans for the November 3rd event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food donations are needed for chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, chili soup, chicken sandwich meat, tavern, salads, pies, cake, pickles, crackers & coffee. We will also need workers for the day and evening shifts. We are planning on a Crafts/Stitchery & Baked/Canned booth and the Lunch Counter. Please see or call Sharon Pfeiffer (925-7604), Kelli Broders (925-7502), or Penny Smidt (925-4292) if you are willing to donate food or work.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS will be having Sunday School on non-communion Sundays starting Oct 2nd in the youth room.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY will not meet the last 2 Wednesdays of this month—Sept. 21 & 28. The class will resume on Wednesday—Oct. 5

 

THE CHOIR - will begin rehearsals on Sunday, Sept 18th at 11:30.  All ages are welcome!

TODAY THE BOARD OF ED will be presenting Bibles to the 3^rd Grade class.

BEFORE THE PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH will be the installing of this year’s Sunday School Teachers.  We thank God for providing these teachers who are willing to spend time with our youth to teach them the truths of the Gospel

MAIN STREET LIVING – September 11^th  “Trinity for the Lost” is presented by Rev. Nathan Neugebauer of St. Johns Lutheran in Revillo and Bethlehem Lutheran in Milbank SD. The message is based on Luke 15:1-10. The Main Street Living Choir will lead the singing of: Today Your Mercy Calls Us; Jesus Sinners Doth Receive; and The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll not want. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

CONFIRMATION CLASS - will begin on Wednesday September 7^th at 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

LWML - will meet Thursday, September 8th. at 2:00 p.m. at the home of Lee Lagendyk.

SUNDAY SCHOOL - will begin on Sunday September 11^th right after the church service.

WEEKDAY SCHOOL - will begin on Wednesday, September 14^th at 4:30 p.m.

GARDENING HELPERS needed for an hour or two on August 26th- the youth group has been helping with the community gardens this summer and their last scheduled week is the week school starts. Since the youth will be in class we are hopeful that a few congregation members could help pick produce on Friday morning August 26th to take to the food pantry for distribution.  Anyone interested or willing please contact Kristi Dannenbring for more information.

The Main Street Living Choir will lead the singing of: Blessed Jesus at thy Word; A Mighty Fortress is Our God; and What a Friend We Have in Jesus. TODAY:  The youth will be sharing some of their experiences from the national youth gathering during coffee hour.  Please consider staying.  A potluck in appreciation for all the congregational support is being planned for this fall.  Watch for more details.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR The Jackson Lee Vetch Memorial Fundraiser, Movie on Main Street: August 7^th.  We will be showing the movie Spare Parts.  The Festivities will begin at 7:00 pm with food & refreshments available.  Don’t forget your lawn chairs, the movie will start at dusk. The Jackson Lee Vetch fund helps kids in South Dakota attend Christian based summer camps.  We hope to see you there!

A CONGREGATIONAL VOTER’S MEETING will be held on Tuesday, August 9^th at 7:30 p.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church.  It is at this time a list of candidates will be given and reviewed in order to extend a call for a pastor.
