09-16-2012 Announcements

IN YOUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Myron Schaffer in the Sioux Falls VA Hospital, Kermit Schrag in the Freeman hospital, our shut-in and inactive members, and all of your friends and relatives who do not yet know Christ.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet this week at 6:00 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall.

POSITIONS OPEN – We are still looking for 1) someone to take over the candle and vestment maintenance duties, 2) one or more adults to lead our Senior High Youth Group, 3) someone to help with the telephone prayer chain [if you are interested in any of these, please contact the Pastor], and 4) additional Sunday School teachers.  Please contact Amber Sayler, Cheri Knittel or Kari Neuharth if you can help with Sunday School.  Thank you for prayerfully considering your stewardship of time and talents by helping us with these important church functions.

BAPTISM OF HANNAH RIGO – We joyfully welcome Hannah Delaney Rigo into our Christian family today through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism!  We thank God for giving Hannah new birth, true faith, salvation and eternal life, and we pray that God’s holy angels will watch over her throughout her life.  Hannah is the daughter of Matthew and Sheila Rigo.  Please greet them in the receiving line following our worship service.

A SIGN UP SHEET is on the bulletin board if you would like to bring snacks for the midweek school and confirmation class on Wednesdays.  Please sign your name on the week you would like to bring a snack.  Thank you.

CHOIR is looking for people to join.  Come today at 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and sing praises to the Lord!
THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE has started making plans for the Nov. 1st event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Food donations are needed for chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, chili soup, chicken sandwich meat, tavern, salads, pies, cake, pickles, crackers & coffee.  We will also need workers for the day and evening shifts.  We will again have the Country Store, Stitchery/Craft Booth and the Lunch Counter.  Please see or call Garnet Stern (925-7298), Corrine Handel (925-7433), Mildred Siekmann (925-7050), or Sharon Pfeiffer (925-7604) if you are willing to donate food or work.

SUNDAY SCHOOL starts today after church.  Please have your children join in the learning of God’s Word!

CHRISTIAN LIFE FALL WORKSHOP will be held in Sioux Falls next Saturday.  Rev. Sturzenbecher will present the “Blessings of Holy Communion.”  Please call Wyona Hofer if you have any questions.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

MAIN STREET LIVINGSept. 23 – Kid’s Crossing finds Simon dealing with how to get to heaven through faith in Jesus.  The speaker will be Rev. Tom Christopher from St. Martins in Alexandria, Trinity in Spencer and St. John in Emery.  The MSL Choir will provide the hymns.  Main Street Living may be seen each Sunday morning at 10:00 on KDLT-NBC Sioux Falls and at 9:00 on KEVN-FOX Rapid City.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR – Sept. 23 – “With God, There is Great Grace” will be Rev. Gregory Seltz’ sermon theme.  The Lutheran Hour is broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8:30 on 105.9 FM and at 9:30 on 570 AM.
