IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember 8-year-old Cole Nelson (who has brain cancer)
and his family, LaNae Harberts (whose father passed away last week) and her
family, all others in need of our prayers, our shut-in and inactive members,
and at least 2 people in your life who do not yet know Christ.
PLEASE PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER using your God-given gifts and talents in service to Him and His
church. In January we will need various
offices and positions filled. Please
contact Chairman of the Congregation, Randy Koerner, if you are willing to have
your name placed on the 2013 ballot.
Thanks!
NEW YEAR’S EVE worship service will not be held this year. However, we still encourage everyone to do
their personal evening devotions, remembering that no matter what personal
difficulties we will face next year, no matter what decisions we will have to
make and no matter the times of uncertainty or anxiety in our lives, Jesus
Christ … “who is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb. 13:8) …
will be there to strengthen us, help us, comfort us and guide us. Only God knows what 2013 will bring but
whatever may happen, one thing remains the same: Jesus Christ, who is “our God, our help in
ages past, our hope for years to come, our shelter from the stormy blast and
our eternal home” (LSB 733 Verse 1).
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS in the church will be taken down on Friday, January 4th,
beginning at 6:00 pm. If you have the
time, would you please help us get the decorations and Christmas
trees put back into storage? Many hands
will make light work! Thank you in
advance for your assistance!
There is a SIGN
UP SHEET on the bulletin board if you would like to usher in the
upcoming year. Please add your name if
you are interested in helping out. Thank
you.
LADIES AID will
meet on January 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for Bible Study and a business
meeting. Hostess will be Marie Wrenn. On Altar Guild for January is Ruth Koerner; coffee
hour committee for January 6th is Susan Borglum.
MIDWEEK SCHOOL and CONFIRMATION CLASSES will resume January 2nd!
We want to send A
BIG THANK YOU to all God’s “angels” here on earth that contributed to
our Christmas Mission Tree. Your generosity
was amazing and heaven-sent for those in need. We collected 2 coats, 4 scarves, 23 blankets,
38 undergarments, 47 hats, 63 pairs of gloves and 103 pairs of socks. Thank you so much for your participation and as
well as for sharing the spirit of giving.
May God bless your Christmas! (s)
The Board of Ed
ANNUAL REPORT – It’s that time of year to start working on the
annual report. Please get your report to
Aleta or Pastor before the next elected officials take your place in the
upcoming year. Thank you for your help in
getting the reports done in a timely matter.
RIDE THE BUS! – Winter weather is here so don’t forget that you
can take advantage of Freeman’s free bus service. They will pick you up at your home in Freeman
and drop you off at the church. To
return, they can pick you up either right after worship or after Sunday
School. All you have to do is call 661-6545
by at least 6:00 the prior Saturday evening and give them your address. Please do not pay or tip the driver
directly. If you wish to make a
contribution to help pay for the bus system, please put your donation in our
offering plate and designate it accordingly.
We will see to it that the funds are sent to where they are to go.
MAIN STREET LIVING may
be seen on Sunday mornings at 10:00 on KDLT-NBC. If you would like to
donate to Main Street Living, there will be a basket in the Fellowship Hall for
the next couple of Sundays. Funds will
be matched by the Ladies Aid.
THE LUTHERAN HOUR is broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8:30
on 105.9 FM and at 9:30 on 570 AM.
