01/05/2014 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS we remember our hospitalized (Richard Salis and Myron Schaffer), Clara Baer who has been released into Oakview Nursing Home, newborn Riley Sandberg (granddaughter of Joan and Dean Dreessen) in the Des Moines Hospital NIC Unit for some premature birth issues, those in cancer treatment programs as well as our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

JUST A REMINDER this afternoon is the movie matinee @ 4 pm. It was moved to today since the weather was so cold last week. Come see a great movie and great fellowship back here at 4. Thank You BOE

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all who donated to the BOE Mission Tree Project. Your response has been overwhelming. All donated items are going to The Pantry in Freeman and will be helping our community stay warm this winter. GOD bless you for your generosity.

ANNUAL REPORT – It’s that time of year to start working on the annual report. Please get your report to Denise Peterson or to Pastor as soon as you can. Thank you for your help in getting the reports done in a timely manner.

ATTENTION DART BALL PLAYERS; The dart ball season begins on January 20, with Parkston at Freeman. 2014 SCHEDULES are on the bulletin board-pick one up. ALSO, PRACTICES are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 12&19. If you have any questions, contact Tom Stolp or Rev. Weeman.

Our YOUTH GROUP has temporarily suspended all activities and meetings effective immediately because of a lack of interest and support by the majority of the youth. It really is neither right nor fair to the 3 or 4 youth and 2 sets of parents who show up for the activities and meetings, do all of the planning for future events, etc., and then have no one else ever participate in anything. We will consider restarting the Youth Group next Fall when other youth become eligible to participate.

COFFEE HOUR GROUP schedule is done and in the secretaries basket in the window sill in the kitchen. If you have picked one up please disregard the first one and pick up a revised one thank you.

SIGN UP SHEET for ushers for 2014, if you would like to be a usher for the year 2014 please put your name on the signup sheet on the bulletin board.

PLEASE PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER using your God-given gifts and talents in service to our Lord and His church. At our Annual Meeting we will need to fill various offices and positions. Please contact the Chairman of the Congregation (Randy Koerner) or any elder if you are willing to have your name placed on the 2014 election ballot. Thanks!

PLEASE REMEMBER that the back pews on each side of the church are reserved for families with small children (as noted on the signs). If you do not have small children, please courteously move forward so that our families who do have children can sit where it will be easier to take care of them.

LADIES AID had a successful Christmas Project this year which was to provide financial support for the Main Street Living television programming broadcasts. Donations received were $160; however, since this was a $-for-$ matching fund project, a check for $320 was sent to MSL. Thank you very much to all who helped make the project a success!

MAIN STREET LIVING – Jan. 5th – No scheduling information is available.

THANK YOU so much to everyone who gave us cards and gifts this Christmas season! Truly your goodness is a witness to all. We pray that God would continue to bestow His blessings upon every one of you. (s) Susan and Pastor B.

THRIVENT NOTICE – There will be an open meeting at the Kairos this Wednesday. For more information, please see the notice posted on the bulletin board.

SAMARITAN MEMBERS: Please plan on coming this Wed. Jan 8th for faith, food and fellowship. Meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.
