10-12-2014 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember Bunne Weeman in mourning for her brother who just passed away, Mahala Peterson who fell and dislocated her shoulder last week, Joan Dreessen who had knee replacement surgery, Richard Salis who had a heart procedure done, Cheryl Walz, Arden Stern and all others recovering from surgery or illness, those in cancer treatment programs as well as our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

Main Street Living – Oct. 12th – The featured speaker is Rev. Tim Koch of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wecota and Concordia Lutheran Church in Cresbard.  His sermon theme will be “Jesus is No Genie.”  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

FROM THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE: – we are in the process of trying to finalize plans for the November 6th event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food donations that we still need are chicken noodle soup, chicken for sandwiches, salads, pie, pickles & crackers. We also still need workers for the day and evening shifts. Please see or call Corrine Handel (925-7433), Darlene Schrag (925-7767), Mildred Siekmann (925-7050), or Sharon Pfeiffer (925-7604), if you are willing to donate food or work. Thank you.

REFORMATION WORSHIP SERVICE – We will be hosting this year’s annual Reformation worship service for our circuit of 12 churches.  The service will be on Nov. 2nd with a songfest beginning at 10:30 and the worship service beginning at 11:00 so as to allow the members of the other circuit churches to attend.  Following the service, we will offer a noon meal in our Fellowship Hall.  The cost will be $6.00; lunch tickets may be purchased from the Pastor.  At 2:00 Rev. Dr. Paul Maier (a professor of Ancient History at Western Michigan Univ. and a prolific author) will begin his presentation on “Martin Luther and the Reformation.”  Additional information has been posted on the bulletin board.

REFORMATION WORSHIP SERVICE CHOIR – Rehearsals will be on Oct. 19th and 26th from 3:00 until 4:30.

THE SAMARITAN GROUP will be sending out Solider Packages in November. If you have a family member, friend or someone you would like to receive a package please contact Diane Schnabel.

PLEASE JOIN LONNIE GRABER for cake after church today in celebration of his birthday.
