10-26-2014 Announcements

IN YOUR DAILY PRAYERS this week please remember Cheryl Walz, Tom Stolp, Arden Stern, Richard Salis, Mahala Peterson and all others who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs as well as our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – Oct. 26th – The featured speaker is Rev. Bret Bierman of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mansfield and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stratford.  His sermon theme is “It Hurts When I Fall.”  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING NOTICE – Our Fall voters’ meeting will be held today in the Fellowship Hall right after the worship service.

reformation worship service choir – The final rehearsal will be this afternoon from 3:00 until 4:30.

REFORMATION WORSHIP SERVICE – We will be hosting this year’s annual Reformation worship service for our circuit of 12 churches.  The service will be next Sunday with a songfest beginning at 10:30 and the worship service beginning at 11:00 so as to allow the members of the other circuit churches to attend.  Following the service, we will offer a noon meal in our Fellowship Hall.  The cost will be $6.00; lunch tickets may be purchased from the Pastor.  At 2:00 Rev. Dr. Paul Maier (a professor of Ancient History at Western Michigan Univ. and a prolific author) will begin his presentation on the history of the Reformation.  Additional information has been posted on the bulletin board.

THRIVENT ANNUAL MEETING – We will be hosting this year’s annual meeting of Hutchinson County Chapter of Thrivent Insurance.  It will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9th at 6:00.  A catered meal will be served.  Please RSVP by Nov. 3rd to Romona Ulmer at 387-5451.

Attend the 50th BAZAAR on November 6 starting at 10:30 am.  Julie Huber is on Altar Guild for November and Corrine Handel is Visiting Helper

PLAN TO ATTEND THE BAZAAR on November 6th from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We will again have a Country Store, Stitchery/Craft Booth and the Lunch Counter.  Thanks to all of you that have volunteered to work and/or bring food, this is greatly appreciated.  The food list and the work schedule are posted on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall and on the refrigerator in the kitchen.  The work schedule is also included with the bulletin, and as you can see we are short waitresses & kitchen helpers for the evening; if you are willing to help, tell one of the Bazaar Committee members or just show up & help us out. Thanks.

THE SAMARITAN GROUP will be sending out Solider Packages in November. If you have a family member, friend or someone you would like to receive a package please contact Diane Schnabel.

KITCHEN CLEANING:  We will be cleaning the kitchen, this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in preparation for the November 6th Bazaar and would appreciate your help. Then next Sunday after all the Circuit Reformation events are over we will be doing the setup in the fellowship hall if you are able to help with that, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: There will be no Sunday School on November 2nd.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS needed for the November 16th through December 7th.  We will be teaching the Christmas Story through Textiles, Art, Creative Writing/Music, and Cooking. Each workshop is taught three of the four weeks, so this is a three week commitment.   If you are interested in teaching, please talk to Kristi, Amber, Maria, or Lisa
