Main Street Living – Oct. 5th – The featured speaker is Rev. Greg Lehr of Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. His sermon theme will be “Fragrant Sacrifices and Offerings.” The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.
reformation worship service choir – You are invited to join the choir that will sing for the circuit Reformation festival service in Freeman on Nov. 2nd. There will be rehearsals on Sundays, Oct. 19th and 26th from 3:00 until 4:30 at St. Paul in Freeman. REFORMATION WORSHIP SERVICE – We will be hosting this year’s annual
Reformation worship service for our circuit of 12 churches. The service will be on Nov. 2nd
with a songfest beginning at 10:30 and the worship service beginning at 11:00
so as to allow the members of the other circuit churches to attend. Following the service, we will offer a noon
meal in our Fellowship Hall. The cost
will be $6.00; lunch tickets may be purchased from the Pastor. At 2:00 Rev. Dr. Paul Maier (a professor of
Ancient History at Western Michigan Univ. and a prolific author) will begin his
presentation on “Martin Luther and the
Reformation.” Additional information
has been posted on the bulletin board.
LWML will meet Thursday October 9th.at
7:00 p.m. at the Salem Home. Pastor will lead Bible Study and Gerry will
provide lunch.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
needed for the “Adam and Eve”
story unit. This unit will run 10/12 through 11/9 (no Sunday School on
11/2). Workshops are: “storytelling”—2 weeks, “science
experiments”—3 weeks, “photography”—3 weeks, and “cooking”—3 weeks.
Please prayerfully consider sharing your talents with our young people for this
2-3 week commitment. If you would like to help, please talk to Amber,
Kristi, Maria, or Lisa.
THE BAZAAR COMMITTEE - has started making plans for the November 6th event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food donations are needed for chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, chili soup, chicken sandwich meat, tavern, salads, pies, cake, pickles, crackers & coffee. We will also need workers for the day and evening shifts. We will again have the Country Store, Stitchery/Craft Booth and the Lunch Counter.
