04-12-2015 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

MAIN STREET LIVING – April 12th – The featured speaker is Rev. Adam Welton of Zion Lutheran Church in Presho and Trinity Lutheran Church in Reliance.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

CONFIRMATION SUNDAY

We welcome everyone to today’s Confirmation service and the bringing of our 4 confirmands – Dayna Roth, Shannon Helma, Shay Saarie and Morgan Dannenbring – into the church as communicant members through the Rite of Confirmation.  We pray that the Lord will continue to sanctify them through His Word and that they will continue to walk the road of life with their pathways brightened by the never-failing lamp of His Word.  Everyone is invited to stay for the coffee and cake reception after the service.

DISTRICT CONVENTION OFFERING – Through today, we are accepting a freewill offering for the upcoming District LCMS convention to help support Lutheran education in South Dakota.  Please see the bulletin board notice for additional information.

HOLY LAND TOUR – You are invited to join Rev. Nabil Nour (Redeemer Lutheran Church, Armour), a native of Israel and born in Nazareth, on a 13-day journey to the Holy Land from Oct. 12th thru the 24th.  You will walk where Jesus walked, take a boat on the Sea of Galilee, visit the place where the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes happened, stroll in the Garden of Gethsemane, see where the Sermon on the Mount was preached and much more.  Daily devotions will be in these places as well as on the Jordan River, in the Church of the Nativity or whatever other site is on the daily schedule.  Please see the notice on the bulletin board for additional information, including deadline dates and contact information.  If you have questions that are not covered in the notice, please contact Rev. Nour.  If you would like a hard copy or electronic copy of the bulletin board notice or registration form, please contact our church office.

PRESIDENT SATTGAST’S FAREWELL PROGRAM – After 35 years in the Office of the Holy Ministry (32 years were in SD), District President Dale Sattgast is retiring.  On May 31st there will be a worship service at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron followed by a meal and program.  Please see the bulletin insert for additional information, including RSVP dates and contact information
