4-19-2015 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember Richard and Bobbi Salis (both suffering from several maladies; Barb is hospitalized), and all who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

PASTOR IS ON VACATION thru tomorrow.  Rev. Peter Sestak from Sioux Falls will be leading our worship service today.  Thank you, Rev. Sestak!  Rev. David Ellis from Menno is on call for pastoral emergencies.  You may reach him at 605-760-7836.  You may also contact any of our elders for assistance.

Main Street Living – April 19th – The featured speaker is Rev. Ray Greenseth of Messiah Lutheran Church in Murdo.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING NOTICE – Our Spring voters’ meeting will be held next Sunday in the Fellowship Hall right after the worship service.

WELLSPRING CARE CENTER will hold their annual meeting on April 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the Freeman Regional Health Center’s conference room.  All delegates and interested persons are invited to attend.  There is an opening for 1 board member.  Delegates are to please bring with you the name of a person who would be willing to serve on the board for the next 3 years.  Please join us for an evening of sharing of information as well as a chance to meet our counselor (Lori Williamson) and board of directors.

THE MELCHER SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE is asking for donations to the scholarship fund because the interest rates are so low.  If you wish to donate to the scholarship fund, please place an envelope with “scholarship” written on the outside in the offering plate.  Donations need to be made by the last Sunday in April. Thank you.

PRESIDENT SATTGAST’S FAREWELL PROGRAM – After 35 years in the Office of the Holy Ministry (32 years were in SD), District President Dale Sattgast is retiring.  On May 31st there will be a worship service at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron followed by a meal and program.  Please see the bulletin insert for additional information, including RSVP dates and contact information

LAWN MOWING - The Albrecht family has decided not to pursue the mowing duties at the church and parsonage.  St Paul's would like to thank the Albrecht family for their years of service mowing and maintaining the church property.

The trustees will still be accepting bids for the mowing duties from members until April 26 before the voter's meeting.  Contact Matt Rigo at (605) 366-7476.  Please leave a message if no answer

HOLY LAND TOUR – You are invited to join Rev. Nabil Nour (Redeemer Lutheran Church, Armour), a native of Israel and born in Nazareth, on a 13-day journey to the Holy Land from Oct. 12th thru the 24th.  You will walk where Jesus walked, take a boat on the Sea of Galilee, visit the place where the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes happened, stroll in the Garden of Gethsemane, see where the Sermon on the Mount was preached and much more.  Daily devotions will be in these places as well as on the Jordan River, in the Church of the Nativity or whatever other site is on the daily schedule.  Please see the notice on the bulletin board for additional information, including deadline dates and contact information.  If you have questions that are not covered in the notice, please contact Rev. Nour.  If you would like a hard copy or electronic copy of the bulletin board notice or registration form, please contact our church office.
