02-15-2015 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember all who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – Feb. 15th – The featured speaker is Rev. Silas Mehl of Zion Lutheran Church in Canistota and St. John Lutheran Church in Montrose.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

THE LORD’S SUPPER at St. Paul Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.  It is celebrated in the confidence that we receive – in, with and under the consecrated bread and wine – our Savior’s true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who commune at this altar are making this public confession of the faith that we believe and teach as is written in the Holy Scriptures.  If you are not a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the Pastor before the worship service.

YOUTH GROUP: We will be meeting on Sunday February 22nd at 4:30 upstairs in the newly remodeled youth group room.  Come for some faith, fun and food.  7th-12th grade.  We are excited to be your new leaders, Chris & Amber Sayler, Matt & Kristi Dannenbring

A HUGE THANK YOU for the donations that were given for the Alaska Mission Team at last Sunday’s potato feed!  I was overwhelmed with your generosity.  I would ask that you please keep my team members and me in your prayers as we continue to plan and prepare for this mission in June.  Thank you again, Carly Fritz

ATTENTION DARTBALL PLAYERS:  This Monday, Feb. 16 Freeman plays at Delmont. If you want to carpool meet at St. Paul at 6:30 pm.  Game time is 7:30pm.  Questions??  Contact Rev. Weeman at               605-925-4004.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY CLASS – Please join us this Lenten season for 6 Sunday evening Bible study classes beginning Feb. 22 and then continuing on the 5 Sundays in March.  The evening begins at 5:45 with a light supper which will then be followed by a 1-hour class that will begin about 6:30; all materials will be provided.  The theme for this year’s classes will be “Christianity and the Competition” – authored by Lutheran Hour Ministries and Dr. Paul Maier.  We welcome you to this time of Bible study and fellowship!  Please add your name to the classes’ sign-up sheet on the bulletin board so that we know how many meals and class materials to prepare.  Thanks!

2015 LENTEN CHALLEnGE – Based upon our Lord’s example during His temptation in the desert as well as throughout His ministry, it is not only good that we know God’s Word but necessary as we follow in His footsteps.  Many of us already have regular daily devotions or other Bible study activities – and you are commended for that!  During this Lenten season, your Pastor challenges everyone (of all ages) to add one more facet to your faith life.  Starting next Sunday, let’s memorize one Bible verse (from the Bible translation of your choice) for each of the season’s 6 weeks!  Any time after Palm Sunday and before Easter Sunday, you may recite all 6 verses privately to the Pastor to receive your award!
