03-01-2015 Announcements

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we remember those who are recovering from surgery and illness, those in cancer treatment programs, our shut-in and inactive members, and at least 2 family members or friends in your life who do not yet know Christ.

Main Street Living – March 1st – The featured speaker is Rev. David Knefelkamp of Zion Lutheran Church in White and First English Lutheran Church in Aurora.  The program is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

LADIES AID wlll meet on March 4th after Lenten service  for a business meeting.  On Altar Guild  for March is Mildred Siekmann.  Coffee Hour committee for March 1st is Phyllis Knittel, Lee Lagendyk and Sharon Pfeiffer. 

LENTEN DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETS (written by Lutheran Hour Ministries) were distributed after last week’s worship service.  Additional copies are in the library.

LENTEN SOUP-SUPPeRs – There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for any person, family or group who would like to host one of our Lenten Wednesday soup-suppers this year.

Midweek Lenten Services – The theme for this year’s Lenten season is “The Passion According to St. Matthew. In this sermon series we are following Jesus in His passion as He fulfills His role as our Savior from sin and death.  A soup and sandwich supper will be offered beginning at 5:45.  All services will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Please mark your calendars and please bring a friend as you join us for worship!

2015 LENTEN CHALLEnGE – the verse for the 2nd week of Lent is Joel 2:32a.

IMPORTANT DARTBALL INFORMATION:

-Today: Practice Games with Clayton at St. Paul/Freeman at 3PM.

-March 8:  ZONE DARTBALL TOURNAMENT at St. Paul/Freeman at 3PM with YOUTH GROUP  serving refreshments/ lunch.  (Come support our team & youth-EVERYONE IS WELCOME.)

 -March 14:  STATE DARTBALL TOURNAMENT at Tea Elementary School Gym- 500 W. Charish St. at 10:30 AM.

THE SD GIDEONS wish to thank St. Paul Lutheran Church for inviting them to give their presentation after last week’s worship service.  They enjoyed worshipping with us, talking with those whom they knew and meeting those whom they didn’t know!  The freewill offering collected for Gideon International was $373.  Thank you to all who donated.  Lives will be changed and more copies of the Bible can be distributed because of those donations.
