07-24-2011 ANNOUNCEMENTS

IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS this week we continue pray for Leland Zanter who has severe kidney problems and for his family. In addition, please remember the families of Rev. Terry Martin (from Mitchell) and Rev. Lowell Boettger (from Rapid City), both of whom entered into eternal Glory this last week. In his 38 years in the Holy Ministry Rev. Martin served the SD congregations in Aurora and White; he also served congregations Nebraska, Montana and North Dakota. Rev. Boettger served his 57 years in the ministry in Menno, Utica, Chamberlain, Rapid City and Hot Springs as well as churches in Iowa and North Dakota. We also continue to pray for our shut-in members, our inactive members and for at least two people in your life who don’t know Christ.

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING NOTICE – Our Summer voters’ meeting will be held today at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We want your input on the issues that we will be discussing so please stay for the meeting. If you are not yet a voting member, please see one of the church officers.

PROJECT SCRUB BUCKET is a service activity of Orphan Grain Train in response to the current flooding across several Midwest states. The project’s objective is to collect and distribute 5-gallon buckets filled with cleaning supplies for flood cleanup. Through August 7th donations of the following items would be appreciated: 5-gallon buckets, Comet (or other cleansing powder), Lysol (or other liquid cleanser), Windex (or other glass cleanser), bleach, scrub brushes, rubber gloves, sponges, brooms and/or mops, and rolls of paper towel. Our LWML ladies are coordinating the collection of the cleaning supplies and the delivery of them to OGT. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated! PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN – The Samaritan group has assembled activity bags for your children to use during the church service today. Please ask an usher at the rear of the church to assist you in getting one and please return it to the ushers on your way out of church.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved in this year’s Vacation Bible School. Whether it was of prayer, time, talent or resources, everyone gave so generously. We could not have done this without all of the help we received! Thank you all so very, very much! – Lisa Anderson, Amber Sayler and Cheri Knittel.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to everyone for the welcoming potluck dinner, pantry shower, cards and gifts last Sunday! We feel over-whelmed and we sincerely appreciate all that you have done for us these last several months to make us feel at home and to welcome us into the St. Paul family. We know that a lot of people put a lot of effort into making sure everything was just right – and it was! We have certainly been blessed by God with this Divine Call and we pray that our Lord will continue to bless and watch over all of you as He has done for so many years. THE LUTHERAN HOUR – July 31, 2011 – Pastor Ken Klaus’ sermon theme, based on Matthew 14:15-16, will be “Hope for the Helpless.” The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday morning at 8:30 on 105.9 FM (KMIT) and at 9:30 on 570 AM (WNAX).

MAIN STREET LIVING – July 24, 2011 – Kid’s Crossing has a little talk with God … a look at prayer. The featured speaker is Rev. Curtis Garland from First Lutheran Church in Wall and Emanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton, NE. The sermon theme is “Free Food! All You Can Eat!” The hymns are “Blessed Jesus at Your Word,” “All Depends on Our Professing” and “Almighty Father, Bless the Word.”
